How many cups (or ounces) is this good for?

Answer: A 1 lb bag should make 200-300 cups of tea. Meaning 8 oz servings but depends on the strength you make it.

Answer: I estimate the pound of tea makes at least 180 cups. (Based on 2 cups a day and it lasts me at least 3 months)

Answer: It's a pound of dry tea leaves. It makes exactly 123.4 cups of tea, less if kittens are involved or if it's really wet water you are using.

Answer: it's not really possible to answer that for another person since you may like your tea weaker or stronger than I like mine. What I can say is that buying tea by the one pound bag is the most economical way to go since we pay less per ounce for a 1 lb. bag than we pay for an 8 oz tin. I've found that it doesn't matter whether I keep the bag in the freezer or on the shelf: it's the quality of the packaging that keeps the unused tea fresh, so keep the bag tightly sealed between uses for maximum flavor retention

Does tea expire?

Answer: This tea has a "Best By" date. I just got it and it is best by December 2019, it will be long gone by then!

Answer: Yes. Tea is made from leaves, which decay over time. Keeping your tea in a sealed container will make it last longer. I usually buy my tea by the pound, and keep it in a ziploc bag. The tea stays fresh so the way to the end of the bag.

Answer: It will stay flavorful if you continue to store it properly after opening. Each time I open up the bag to scoop out some tea, I immediately close it tightly with excess air pressed out, fold the top down and then quickly slip on a rubber band to keep the packaging tight. I keep it stored inside a cabinet at room temperature. My tea stays fully flavorful down to the last leaves.

If I buy today, when is the expiration date?

Answer: The order I received about a month ago has an expiration date of 1/9/22.

Answer: It will be whatever they put on the package from the manufacturing date, not the buying date. Still, don't worry about it, because this is dry tea. It's not going to go bad anytime soon. Perhaps more usefully, I've had this stuff for more than a year after buying it, and it isn't any different than when it arrived--still tastes great! Just don't let moisture get into the package to mold the tea. DRY looseleaf tea lasts practically forever. Also this is VERY good Earl Grey tea, so buy it. I'm glad I did and I'm still enjoying it. ~ The End.

Answer: I haven't a clue, but I do know that a pound of this tea lasts me about 3/4 of ayear and it's never gone bad on me

Answer: I believe so. It's the best Earl Grey I've found.

this batch is very bland and totally lacks the distinctive taste and smell of true Earl Grey.
Just like spices , tea loses it taste and smell with age - I must therefore assume this batch is not a fresh harvest.Poor buy for the money!!!!

Firstly, everyone who smells this tea agrees it has an amazing aroma. Most Earl Grey contains only bergamot oil, this has whole curls of bergamot peel. This proves to be more complex in possibility and brewing technique.

I've never brewed this for anything other than iced tea. So, naturally, I've tried it from dry as cold brew and that produces something truly remarkable in foulness and bitterness. That is NOT the way.

After much experimentation, my favored method starts by washing 12-15g in 205F water, just enough to wet all the leaves, and almost immediately dumping out all the liquid. Then adding enough of the same water from the 205F kettle to fill a 1 liter French press, covering, and brewing for 3 minutes. During the brew, fill a 2 liter pitcher halfway with ice, adding just a little water. After the brew, depress the filter and pour the filtered hot tea into the watery ice to make about 2 liters of tea. You might have heard or experienced this method producing a cloudy or swampy brew, but with this tea it is crystal clear in flavor and optics.

Now, don't throw away those "spent" leaves! These may be combined with cold water in a quart jar to cold brew overnight in your refrigerator. Drink this at full concentration once. You may steep them a second time for a remouillage to add to your ice for a new brew or enjoyed as a refreshing drink between full-strength tea.

I will definitely try other teas for iced tea, but this is my favorite I've found so far.

This is really great Earl Grey Tea, but it is tea bags, not loose tea!! You need to change this information. What I wanted was more of the same Harney tea in the black tin, also very good. I would have returned it, but I had already opened the bag. I couldn't believe it was tea bags.
