There are many versions of English Breakfast tea. Ours has an ancient pedigree. Researchers have traced its heritage back to the black tea the English drank regularly in the 1800's.
It is, simply, China Black 100% Keemun. A simple way to start your hectic day!

English Breakfast Tea was never designed or formulated all those years ago. Rather, teas were chosen that were plentiful and not too expensive, and that would taste good with milk and sugar. Something an English person would enjoy at the start of a busy day. So in the early 1800s, that tea would have been a black tea from China, and this is where we take our inspiration. Later on, many Brits drank the brisker teas from the British colonies of India and Ceylon. After the Second World War, when the colonies became independent, the source of English Breakfast for the British became Africa. We do have some blends that are inspired by these regions, however this English Breakfast, like the original, is Chinese black tea.
The Harney family and staff are very proud to be part of 1 Percent for the Planet, a fine global organization working toward protection of the environment 1% at a time.

Is this still a Keemun tea? I buy the 4 oz tins all the time, and a few months ago, it stopped saying Keemun on the label-it now says blended black t

Answer: I have that question into my sales rep at Harney. Currently, today, I have 3 4 oz tins that say Keemun if that is what you are looking for. The last shipment since the new year doesn't say that.

Answer: I don't see anything that mentions Keemun tea, the label just says English Breakfast. I can't remember the name of the vendor that I bought it from. You have now, made me curious.

Answer: On the Harney website (I am sure you can find it), it says, “It is, simply, China Black 100% Keemun.”

My bag smells like bio freeze? Is this tea supposed to smell like eucalyptus?

Answer: The tea tasted just as I expected English Breakfast to taste. Didn’t smell the package. I’m picky about my tea.

Why has this tea almost doibled in price since December?

Answer: I’ve never bought a tin of Harvey &Sons English Breakfast Tea. However, Harney is an excellent English Breakfast tea. I am a 50 year tea drinker. I’m on my 3rd one pound bag. Check the tin...tea might be in tea bags. I find bags have smaller bits of tea leaf. If it’s loose tea, it should be the same full leaf tea.

Answer: I am sure it is, or it would be marked otherwise, either as a different grade or with a different name. I owned a tea shop, and the larger bags are usually bought by people like me who need greater quantities to serve or sell retail by the ounce. The small tins are usually bought by individuals. Just keep the big bag closed and in a dark place for storage.

I loved Dunkin donuts tea, but didn't like the price. I didn't like or enjoy the Lipton tea nearly as much. This however, is very close to Dunkin & Donuts tea.

I'm sorry to say this, but there is something very distasteful to me about this tea. I have tried adding sweetness and more milk but there remains a bitterness, a harshness, that I cannot eliminate. Maybe there is a solution related to how hot the water is or how long I let it steep. I have been experimenting with those. I welcome suggestions. I have even tried mixing it with a delicious chai tea I have and it even ruins that tea. At this point, which is about a month since I received it, I, personally, would not buy it again.

I drink a lot of tea. During the colder months, I may do four to five cups a day. I have tried many of the bulk teas English Breakfast teas available on Amazon. Harney & Sons is the hands-down winner. You get a beautifully consistent cup of tea every time. Hearty enough to take sugar and milk if you wish, but smooth enough to drink straight, which is what I do. With H&S, every time is tea time!

I am fairly picky about my tea. This Keemun tea is one of my favorites. Very fresh and fragrant. The quality is unsurpassed. I highly recommend it to any tea drinker.

The bag I got was stale and seems to lack some of the 'oomph' I get. The manufacturer offers free shipping on their site and their prices match here. You're probably better off buying direct!

That said, its a superb tasting English Breakfast and hands down my favorite. Stands up like a champ to steeping a long time in a teapot without any puckering astringency creeping in. Simply splendid.

I was looking for a good tea for making iced tea. Too many teas seem to lose all character when you chill them. I hot brew this tea, then chill it in the refrigerator. It always produces a delicious brew that retains its character when chilled, and is never bitter. If you're looking for the perfect glass of iced tea, this is the tea to use.

The bag was either not sealed properly or maybe I didn't read description correctly but this tea has almost no flavor. Once again it might be my fault in terms of not storing this properly, but the tea does not have an type of "black tea" flavor. If I had even 1 teaspoon of organic cane sugar, all I tasted was sugar water.

Recommendations from people I trust led me to Harney & Sons for a top quality tea. Purchased a full bag of loose leaf to try brewing. The answer, at least for me: delicious. There is so much more flavor here. The quality is so much better. Well worth it. Have tried many excellent teas since, but this still stands out as the best English Breakfast tea I've had.

Infuriating! From reviews I was expecting leaves and better quality. Regrettably, the leaves appeared like coffee grounds - not what you want to use in a strainer as some seeps into the tea you drink. I won’t buy this again.

This tea is bitter. (I take my tea with whole milk.) Unfortunately, I bought a 1 lb bag of it. I love Taylor of Harrogate's English Breakfast, Tazo Awake, and Tea Forte's Black Tea loose leaf, which is a bit sweet. If you enjoy a bitter taste (and aftertaste) in your black tea, then buy Harney and Sons (I would start with a small amount). Sugar cubes don't mask it; nor does mixing with another loose leaf.

I've only ever like black tea, and English Breakfast black tea (EBBT) is my favorite. I used to buy it in bulk at this really cool tea shop in Champaign, IL. It was cheap and yummy. However, I recently moved to the west coast and all I can find are expensive, 'posh' little tea shops that sell tea in 3 oz quantities for $10. I'm poor and looking for a job, so that won't cut it.

Background info:
I drink my tea with honey and a little almond milk. This tea is great for that. Since all brands of EBBT vary, it might take a little to get used to it and fine a good amt/steep time, but I like it.

It does have some fine particles in the bag, though, which is why it gets 4 stars. I may have to try putting it in my basket thingy and running water over it for a second to get the fine particles out before I actually put it in the water.
