Questions about MarketSpice Teabags, box of 24 (Market Spice Tea) Cinnamon-Orange (Net WT 56G)
Q:
This tea is really very sweet. Says no sugar but it lists no ingredients either. Does anyone know if it has artificial sweetner(s)? It tastes like it.
Answer: No, it's not too sweet! It is so full of flavor, I absolutely love it! I bought it on vacation in Seattle at Pike's Market and fell in love. I'm so glad to find it on Amazon. I usually drink black tea, without sugar, as I don't like sugary drinks or their effects. This has so much orange and cinnamon flavor that even those that usually use sugar will be satisfied. Previous to finding this tea, my favorite tea was Oprah Chai Tea from Starbucks (no milk), but MarketSpice Cinnamon-Orange quickly took the Number 1 favorite spot on my list. Try it, you won't be disappointed.
Answer: Probably best to contact the Market Spice people at Pike Place Market in Seattle. I have a sweet tooth and thought it was just a strong blend of orange essence. Didn't seem to have that weird fake sugar taste to me.
Answer: Hi,
Answer: I thought it was all "natural". To me it doesn't taste that sweet. I usually put a packet of Splenda or a half packet per cup.
Answer: If you are concerned about sugar, contact the company which manufactures the product which I think is Pike Market Spice based in Seattle. Orange does have a bit of sugar which is natural for this fruit.
Q:
Does this contain caffeine?
Answer: I think it has black tea in it which may contain caffeine. There is a decaf which I am sure contains less than the regular if any at all.
Answer: On the side of the box is written "Ingredients: black tea, natural and artificial flavors and spices. Contains no sugar." As you can see, there is no mention anywhere of caffeine. I think most teas contain a compound that is not caffeine, but which is very similar to caffeine. The Fragrant Leaf dot com states that all black teas contain caffeine.
Answer: The box does not list caffeine, but as it is black tea, it probably has the same amount of caffeine as other black teas.
Answer: This tea is not caffeine free
Answer: This tea packaging does not say no caffeine.
Answer: Yes and the Spice Market in Seattle sells a decaffeinate product. You need to go to them directly.
Answer: Yes. There is a decaf version. But you may need to make sure you buy it direct from Market Spice to get it.
Q:
Gift cards for market spice store?
Answer: Don't know-how have no experience with gift cards from there.
Q:
My last 5 tea bags seem to have lost their flavor. Very weak. How do you store them so they stay flavorful?
Answer: I had the same problem so I started ordering directly from MarketSpice. I keep mine in a dark jar in the freezer. That is what they suggested. On one of my orders the tea was not as flavorful. I called the company and they replaced it.
Answer: We store ours in a mason jar. Make sure the lid is closed tight. We have had ours for many months and they still pack a wonderful flavor
Answer: I store them in a glass jar in the freezer and they stay fresh and flavorful.
Answer: You might check the expiration date. This seller sent me tea that arrived today and it is expired. They do not offer refunds at all either!
Answer: The manufacturer says to store them in air tight glass containers..... sometimes even then the oils dry up and they aren’t as tasty.
Answer: To keep them fresh my friend advised me to keep them in a jar in the refrigerator which is what I do.
Q:
My favorite tea, but am concerned that the label says artificial flavors. Does anyone know what those artificial flavors are?
Answer: It doesn't say on the package...
Answer: Sorry, I don't.
Q:
Does this tea have cloves in it
Answer: Yes it does. Here is a link to the MarketSpice website. It shows the ingredients on the bag!
Answer: The ingredients only list spices, but not what they are. I am not a fan of clove and do not taste it, so do not think so.
Answer: Hi,
Answer: Tastes like just a ton of cinnamon
Answer: Yes
Q:
Is this really being distributed by marketspice in seattle/pike place? if so, why are you charging nearly double via amazon as you do on the website?
Answer: some Independent sellers will charge double for different products. It is up to you what you want to pay for a product. Don't blame the tea company.
Answer: I can confirm that this is from Pike Place Market in Seattle..I first had it there in 1977 and have searched for it off and on ever since moving from Seattle after finishing my degree from the UW. This is the real deal. That said, I do not sell it..I am an Amazon customer who buys it. Why the price differential? I dunno!!! Sorry I can't be more helpful. The tea is delicious, though!!!
Answer: I am in Seattle at Pike Place Market frequently and Market Spice Tea still has their shop in the same location that it had been in for years. When I'm in Seattle I buy it there--cost is less--but I also order it from Amazon and forget about the difference in price. If a product is that good it's worth the money you spend on it.
Answer: Same tea as Pike Place ... can't answer the charge question on this one though. I know I've purchased for various prices at various locations....interesting question!
Answer: It is the real Market Spice Tea. I heard they no longer sell it from the store at Pike Place Market, they have someone else package & distribute. If that is true that would add additional cost. I don't think cost is double, but it is more than it used to be. (I don't sell either, just consume)
Answer:
Answer:
Answer: I've bought this tea once off of Amazon and the price was so high that I decided not to buy it again. I am curious why this question came to me since I am just a one time customer of the product.
Q:
Is the tea Keto friendly?
Answer: It is a black tea and black take isn't a preferred tea on keto. Also don't get a big box it will go rancid if not used quickly. Get loose tea if available.
Answer: It is sugar free, if that helps. This is the best tasting cinnamon tea. It has real cinnamon oil, not just flavoring. I do suggest that you order it directly from Market Spice since they make it daily and you will probably get a fresher tea.
Answer: I have no idea. message the company.
Answer: Yes it is!
Q:
I just opened the foil bag. There are wet dark droplets of liquid inside. It smells delicious, so is this just residual oils?
Answer: Yes, make sure you keep the opened bag in a sealed container so it does not dry out. Better flavor. Best tea ever from Pike Street Marjet in Seattle. Great iced too.
Answer: It varies. But yes, the oils can sometimes be very present in the boxes of tea that we sell at the Pacific Northwest Shop.
Answer: I have had four bags and none of them had any moisture inside.nor did they feel oily. The bags are dark but should feel dry. I think I would send them back. This is the best ever tea and we love it and plan to order more. Hope this helped.
Answer: Mine as well and I consumed mine just fine.
Answer: Yes! The tea bags will be sticky- in fact you can use the teabag twice..
Answer: Most likely it's the oils. The tea is so good!
Answer: You are correct and it is delicious!!
Answer: Yes
Q:
Does this tea come caffeine free?
Answer: Yes. At the Pacific Northwest Shop we carry the decaffeinated tea as well.
Answer: No
Answer: No
Q:
Is the Cinnamon and Keto tea Keto friendly if i drink it plain?
Answer: Yes - there is no sugar and the cinnamon actually helps to regulate blood sugar and insulin.
Answer: ask the manufactor. I don't sell this.
Q:
Should the tea be damp when you open the foil packaging?
Answer: Hello. We've sold Market Spice Tea for years here at the Pacific Northwest Shop. If you're referring to the original cinnamon orange tea, the dampness is actually the oils used to make the tea. It should definitely have damp a look.
Answer: I would say no. There may be a slightly oily feel, as I'm sure there are oils used in making, but definitely not damp.
Answer: Yes.....if it's not then it's dried up and stale
Answer: That doesn't sound right to me. I think you should contact the company for a better answer.
Answer: Slightly
Q:
I just opened the foil bag and noticed that there are black liquid dropletson the side of the bag. Are the tea bags supposed to be slightly damp?
Answer: Mine was like that as well. I don't know if it's supposed to be like that but all my tea was delicious. Nothing moldy or anything.
Answer: No I have never had the tea bags have dropplets on the outside of the tea bag. The flavor goes out of them fast so you have to keep them in a zip lock bag and I put that in an air tight canister. It is the best tea I have ever had I have to watch getting the product from someone else on amazon besides the Market spice site because the product use by date is much shorter.
Answer: My bags were perfectly fine. Last package bought almost one year ago and when I opened it, it was perfect. Sorry you had problems.
Answer: Mine was not like that. Perhaps the person who sold it will know. We DO enjoy the tea.
Answer: I don't think that's normal. You may call them.
Q:
Has the blend changed? Our most recent order wasn't as strong in the orange oil flavor.
Answer: I'm a veteran user for 20 years. I don't if the blend has changed, but the only times the flavor has not been as strong is when the product is old. The fresh stuff is strong, so strong it permeates the shop in Seattle's Pike Place. I'd ask for a replacement.
Answer: Sorry, I didn't really notice any change.

Q:
How does Marketspice cinnamon-orange compare to Bigelow's Constant comment?
Answer: I saw people raving about constant comment so I bought some and I didn’t like it at all. It might be on of those situations where you are either a fan of market spice or a fan of constant Comment.
Answer: Never drank Bigelow's Constant therefore I can't compare it to Market Spice Cinnamon Orange but what I can tell you is that about 15 years ago we went into a restaurant in Seattle, WA and they had a samovar of tea in the entrance which I tried. I was in love immediately and inquired about the brand which was Market Spice's Cinnamon Orange and I have been buying it since--I've tried many teas and none of them compare to Market Spice Cinnamon Orange.
Answer: I consider MarketSpice cinnamon-orange tea to be a much stronger, bolder version of orange-spice tea than is Constant Comment tea. It requires no sweetner and the "zip" will stay with you just as long as a good, stout black tea!
Answer: I am not familiar with Constant Comment, but I will say that the Marketspice tea is DELICIOUS! Absolutely fabulous..very aromatic and cinnamonny (if there is such a word!) Incredibly tasty!!!
Answer: Constant comment tastes like tea. Google the ingredients. It is tea. That
Answer: It is SO much better. Great cinnamon taste. It is stronger than Constant Comment and I love the flavor. The best part is you do not need to add sugar. I am so happy that I can buy it on Amazon because it has become one of my favorites.
Answer: Constant Comment is next on my list if I can't get Marketspice. But, honestly, Marketspice is about 100 times better.
Q:
How are the individual tea bags packaged?
Answer: There is a foil bag inside the box filled with several tea bags, no strings on the tea bags. I store mine inside a glass jar in the freezer because the oil in the tea will go rancid if you do not use them quickly. Watch the expiration date when you purchase the tea, because some sellers do not notice and it is already rancid when you purchase it.
Answer: Tea bags come boxed . Each is a normal tea bag. I usually put them in a tea tin. A word of warning, do not store in a plastic container or in anything enameled. The citrus oils in the tea bags will ruin them.
Answer: They're individual bags without staples or strings. The best way that I can describe them is that they're in "pillow style" teabags. I use one per mug, I know other people that will reuse them, but I don't because I tend to steep my tee until it's pretty strong. That doesn't leave much in the tea bag for a second use.
Answer: Tea bags come in a sealed foil pouch which is inside of the display box. The bags are not individually packaged, but I find the packaging used, works just fine.
Q:
What color are the tea bags supposed to be? When I opened the package the bags were dark brown. The tea tasted fine.
Answer: yes. the oils from the tea make the bags dark brown. Also. Keep the teabags in the freezer to keep if fresher and last longer.
Answer: Mine were more of a greenish brown. However I have learned not o get a big supply because in my opinion the longer I have the bags the more the tea flavor changes. Not bad, but not as fresh orange tasting.
Answer: They are supposed to be dark brown and slightly oily to the touch since there is real cinnamon oil in them. I love this tea and have been drinking it for years!
Answer: I hadn't used this in a while. When I opened the box, the teabags did not look good. They were brown with a green tint. The edges were multicolored tan. It looked as though the bags had been wet. They looked like they could be moldy. They didn't look fresh. I'm throwing it out.
Answer: That sounds right. The trees bags should be dark brown.
Q:
How long do you steep this tea?
Answer: I only steep about a minute and a half (90 seconds) because I like a less strong brew. I've found if I steep as long a 3-4 minutes the tea gets a harsh, bitter undertone.
Answer: Depends on how strong you like it. It is full body and full of flavor. The longer you steep it the stronger the flavor.
Answer: I just steep it 5 minutes
Q:
Where is the black tea in this item grown?
Answer: The black tea we use is Chinese black tea.
Answer: I called the company. It is from a Chinese Provence.
Q:
Are these tea bags individually wrapped?
Answer: No they are in a paperwrap as a teabag. When you open the box you remove the teabags from the foil bag and place them in a glass jar and In the freezer. Then remove one teabag at a time when you want tea. I know most tea is individual wrapped. But, because these are in the freezer no need for individual wrap. I don.t believe you will be disappointed. However this is not something you would take if you were traveling for example.
Answer: No they are unwrapped bags. Best tea ever. I ordered and it was cancelled. First time that ever happened. It must be in stock so will try again. It’s so spicy it tastes like it has sugar but it doesn’t.
Answer: Individual tea bags, yes.
Answer: They are individual teabags, but each teabag has no outer pouch you have to open to get to the teabag (no like with bungalow or stash). I keep the teabags in a glass jar with a sealed lid to maintain freshness.
Answer: Hi, No our 24TB box contains 24 loose teabags all together in a foil package.
Answer: No, and I placed another direct from the company and they were potent, the box I was disappointed with this box.
Answer: Each teabag is not encased in its own cellophane. And they don't have strings.
Answer: No
Answer: No
Q:
this tea bag, does it's sugars and carb content say 0g? everyone has commented on the cinnamon taste/smell, is there any citrus taste/smell observed?
Answer: The marketSpice tea has no sugar and has a great orange smell and flavor that compliments the cinnamon. Best flavored tea I have ever bought or tasted.
Q:
Please clarify: The box says keep in the freezer, but the website says refrigerator. Which is it please?
Answer: hummmm my box of Market Spice tea does not say anything about the fridge or freezer. I will tell you this is one of the best tasting spice tea!
Answer: Tea should NOT be refrigerated. It should be kept in an airtight container.
Answer: Either would be okay. Might depend on how fast you use it. Without some type of cooling, the tea will turn rancid. I buy only small amounts to help avoid the tea turning. Leave one bag out in box so you can see what happens to the favor and why it's important to keep it in freezer/refrig.
Answer: I just keep it in the box in my cupboard and it keeps just fine.
Answer: Either is suitable, and ideal for keeping the freshness of the orange.
Answer: I keep in frigerator.
Product reviews of MarketSpice Teabags, box of 24 (Market Spice Tea) Cinnamon-Orange (Net WT 56G)
Saddlesntak : Arrived super fast, fresh and tastes great
Arrived super fast, fresh and tastes great!! Living here in Texas, I have missed being able to get this in almost any market. Glad I found a place to get it!! Especially for winter. Really warms you up without being too overwhelming.
Heather : The box was damaged in the shipping process.
The box was damaged. If this wasn’t supposed to go in a gift basket of Seattle and Washington goodies and was for personal use I wouldn’t have minded so much but this box looked like it was sat on unfortunately.
Shanon : Something is wrong with this current lot.
Agree with other comments on the flavor. I had this about a year ago and it was terrific. I bought this a couple months ago and this batch tastes almost rancid. I wouldn’t buy unless they have sorted out the problem.
Kersten Safford : Best tea for over 20 years!!!
My favorite tea for over 20 years. A great value! Read the warnings on the label for storage. I keep mine in original bag in freezer to last longer. Time to get some more!
Brings back college memories every time I have some. Oh and it's like drinking liquid candy without the calories!!!!
hotinaz : Great tea

My favorite tea! Only caution - don't save this for a special occasion, it's best by date is not very long. I ordered for Christmas & it's best by the end of May this year - only 5 months. Last year I made the mistake of spreading it out and the taste turns very acidy. I ended up throwing it out because it was too unpleasant to drink.
Bee Anderson : Not the MarketSpice I remember.
This is not the sweet and spicy unique and wonderful tea I remember from my days in the northwest. It is very bland. No Spice, No sweet. Just kind of like lipton. Very disappointed, as me and my husband were looking forward to a long lost treat.
Trinity : This tea is awesome. I was so glad to find it on ...
This tea is awesome. I was so glad to find it on Amazon and my local source went out of business. Wonderful, rich and intense orange spice flavor. The smell alone is heavenly. There is no sugar needed as the flavor of the tea is so good.

Penny G. : The Best Tea You Will Drink
We received a box of this tea from our son who lives in Seattle. It was so good I didn't want to give it up. I ordered three boxes and gave one away to friends. We love it. It is our favorite tea and doesn't need any sugar though one would think sugar was added. The cinnamon and orange are the perfect blend and I will continue purchasing it. Fantastic product.

Beware!! Lots of cinnamon!!
Laurie Covert : Great cinnamon flavor you can actually taste.

Freya : Great, strong flavor
I bought this tea after getting some in Seattle. So glad I was able to find more on Amazon! If you like a strong, nicely flavored tea, don’t hesitate to pick this one. Just be mindful of the caffeine!
Kim Boyington : Great Tea
This tea is so delicious. It isn't mild, that's for sure. I live across the sound from Seattle but don't get over there often enough to keep myself stocked with this tea. I was so glad to find it on Amazon.

Shirleye : THIS TEA MUST BE FRESH TO BE GOOD!
Do not buy this tea without being able to see the box and check on the shelflife date. This tea gets rancid very easily and sellers try to get rid of the tea that’s got a short shelflife. It tastes terrible once it hits its shelflife date.
Ordinarily this is the best tea in the world. But it has to be fresh. And keep it in your freezer once you purchase it.
Schownuf : My favorite tea!
I discovered this tea last year in a gift basket sent to my office. One sip was all it took to win me over! The tea has a robust, spicy flavor (reminiscent of chai) and tastes sweet without added sugar. I regularly have a cup of MarketSpice tea instead of a sugary treat; what ever is in it satisfies my sweet tooth. Since discovering this brand I've introduced many others to it and they all love it.
Martha Miller : Some of the joy may be the environment
Having not been to the place where other folks have tried this, I'm guessing the market is a lot of the charm with this tea. Its ok, but its not the greatest tea I've ever had. It is spicy, and its sweet, but I prefer to control my own tea sweetness. I'm happy that others have found a tea they enjoy, but this one just isn't it for me. I will finish my box but not sure if I will get more.
Reese : It was really nice to find it again - we love it
My husband and I used to drink this when we were just friends 26 years ago. It was really nice to find it again - we love it! Can't believe I can drink tea w/o any sweetener, but this one has so much flavor I can. :)
Amazon Customer : best ever tea!
favorite tea! easy to order and arrived quickly! win all the way around!
Keith Brown : I love the tea
I love the tea. I typically put a lot of honey in my tea and wit this tea, I don't need anything. The essential oils are so strong that I don't need any, the flavor is fantastic! On the package it does state to store in a glass container. I have went through many box of this tea and love it, however this last box took me longer than the other and unfortunately I noticed the oils blistered into the bag and had a bad smell. So if I offer any advice, it's PLEASE, PLEASE store in a glass container as directed on the box.
Kathleen J. : Nice tea blend - strong cinnamon

A little weak on flavor compared to others I have tried.
Mom in NH : Love the tea
Love this tea. But it was 3days shy of it's expiration date when I received it. Not cool when you factor in I payex $12 for it. I splurged on this item because I can't find a place to buy it in NH.

HLuebner : In The Top 10 of My Favorite Drinks
I had entirely forgotten that this was my favorite fall drink from last year. Had to re-order it and discover all over again what a great flavor this spicy tea truly tastes like. This is definitely one of my favorites drinks besides lattes, wine, and liquor!
Mary Kathryn : Fabulous Cinnamon/Orange flavor
This is my all time favorite tea. The cup brews up and the smell of cinnamon hits you first. The flavor is very rich, warm and spicy with the citrus flavor not overwhelming. If you are on the hunt for a tea with these flavors, pick this brand first. You will not be disappointed.
Tyler D. : Love this flavor
I am not a tea drinker and that might be why I LOVE this tea. It’s the only tea I enjoy and consistently buy because it has flavor without needing to add gobs of honey or milk and sugar. My husband commented that it was sweet but that’s why I enjoy it. The flavor isn’t overpowering. If you store it as instructed on the box, it stays well.
Virginia Mulanax : Very peaceful and harmonic feeling and taste.
Love this tea. I always used to say Constant Comment was my favorite tea, but the fresh orange fragrant and taste with the cinnamon has won me over.
swp : Taste staled; nearly expired
The tea tastes awful and staled. After checking the expiration date. They are expiring in 2 months. I bought in late January. They are expiring in April. No wonder.
