Brewing Instructions: Use one tea bag for each cup of water. Bring fresh water to boiling for black and herbal teas. Cooler water temperature (180 degrees Fahrenheit) for green teas. Steep tea bags in hot water for 1-3 minutes, depending on desired taste.

Are these decaf?
Answer: the box says "less caffeine" but not decaf. However I understand that even green tea labeled at decaf may still have a minute amount of caffeine. If you are allergic, stay away completely. Otherwise the small amount of caffeine in this tea should not bother you unless you drink more than 2-3 cups a day. My thoughts only, I am not a nutritionist

why is there a cancer warning?
Answer: yea - I don't know either - pretty frightening - and then when I tried to return it based on the warnings- the return was denied. Bad situation. I really thought because it was made in the US that I wouldn't have to worry about stuff like that- awful. I did not use it based on the warnings about lead. The company never responded to my concerns.

Answer: I never made the tea because when I rec'd it the box was covered with warning labels that the item contained lead- I was shocked and tried to return the item and it was not returnable - please be warned. and no where in the descriptors does it mention the lead warnings!

The tea is well balanced with a slightly tart finish which is typical of anything that has guava in it. I like to have this tea in the morning in place of coffee. Each tea bag is individually wrapped and when you open the wrapper you can just smell a tropical breeze of goodness and relaxation. I have purchased this tea over and over again. If you do choose to sweeten it I would use a small amount of honey (to much and you will over power the tea).

For me, green tea with ginseng is a tasty way to lower my blood pressure naturally. Do not care for green tea alone (too boring) or ginseng tea alone (tastes like dirt). This combo is quite tasty. Although I would prefer just the green and ginseng, the guava adds a gentle sweetness which is quite nice.
Since I have had trouble finding any green tea w/ginseng in my local supermarkets and health food store (I live on the shoreline in Connecticut), was very happy to find this tea and do recommend it. It even stands up quite well when a little milk is added.
Also, thank you Hawaiian Islands Tea Company for having stringed tea bags! I do not brew tea and do not think to check if a tea bag was a string before buying. I just presume that it will. Very annoying to get home with other brand names I bought that do not have the string.
I have one request for the makers of this tea. Would you please consider offering just green/ginseng tea without the guava? Good Earth used to make a tea like this (it does no longer), and I miss it. Although the guava is a fine ingredient and I will continue to buy this tea, I find that the other two ingredients alone offer a little more oomph in a stronger brew. Sometimes I want light, sometimes I want some oomph...and both are a pleasant, natural way to lower my blood pressure.
Follow-up on 6/30/2018: I do not know if it is this tea or not but last night my blood pressure was the lowest it has ever been. I have made no lifestyle, diet or exercise changes and yet last night my blood pressure was 99/59. I thought, that can't be right so I took it again...102/63. That still seemed low to me so I took it a third time....again 102/63!
As I noted above, sent some to my mother (she is 90 years old). She loves it and has noticed a slight drop in her blood pressure already. Since Ginseng is also supposed to be good for lowering bad cholesterol (that helps me) and easing the pain of arthritis (helps my Mom), I'll try and check back later in the summer with an update on those scores.

I believed this tea came from hawaii but it is from China and a large cancer warning label on the outside of the box scared me enough to throw the unopened package in the trash. I would not waste my time returning it because it was less than $10.00. Although there were multiple photos of the package on the amazon site, the side of the box with the bright cancer warning was missing from the photos.

I had a great guava tea while in the Bahamas a few yrs ago. I could never find it online or in stores states-side. However, I found this tea on Amazon, and it is just as good. The flavor is great.
