Questions about MarketSpice Cinnamon Orange Tea 16 oz(454 g)
Q:
Any sweeteners in the ingredients? it says no sugar, but it brews very sweet.
Answer: I don't think it's sugar-just a great tea! The ingredients don't need sugar.
Answer: I remember seeing in the frequently asked questions of their website that the orange spice is actually what sweetens it, and you aren't supposed to use any other sweeteners when you brew it.
Q:
How many teabags are included?
Answer: None -- this particular product is loose tea. You can buy Market Spice in tea bag form, though.
Q:
What are the artificial flavors you use to sweeten this tea? Artificial flavors are on the package description but they are not specified.?
Answer: The package label states: “Special Tea Blend and Artificial Flavors and Spices. Contains No Sugar.” That’s all it says.
Answer: I don't think the artificial flavors are sweeter, I believe, but am not sure, they are spice derivatives.
Q:
What is "Frustration Free Packaging"?
Answer: Always transfer spice anything (in this case tea) into glass containers as soon as received. Snip the edge of the plastic shipping package with sissors, then pour. "No problem."
Answer: It just means that the package is very easy to open.
Q:
can you freeze this tea?
Answer: You should freeze it as it keeps it fresh for months. I freeze one pound in glass and the rest in the plastic bags and both ways keep it fresh.
Answer: Yes, freezing tea usually doubles the shelflife.
Answer: Yes, it freezes well.
Answer: Yes you can
Answer: I do. Works great, for me!
Q:
Is this product gluten-free?
Q:
Is this a Chinese product? Is it manufactured by a Chinese company?
Answer: No, we are an American company.
Answer: Hell no. It's made in Seattle
Q:
What are the artificial flavors you use to sweeten this tea? Artificial flavors are on the package description but they are no specified?
Answer: Absolutely no sweetener needed or recommended. You could say it has it’s own touch of sweetness due mostly to the orange and balanced by its acidity. It’s a bold black tea.
Answer: My favorite sweetener for tea is Splenda Naturals Stevia. It doesn't have the slightly odd taste of pure stevia, thanks to the combination with erythritol, giving it a table sugar taste. I don't use very much, since that is my taste preference. Great in (iced) sun tea!
Q:
Does this taste like constant comment?
Answer: No, it is much more flavorful than Constant Comment. Be sure to store in a glass container!!! The oils in the tea will actually dissolve and stick to plastic. Very tasty but makes me wonder what it's doing to my stomach lining!?!
Answer: I am not sure if there is a similar Constant Comment product, but I've never had any other tea like this! It is a blend of real teas and herbs full flavored with abundant spice. Its right up there next to chocolate as a treat! So I would say no it doesn't. :)
Answer: NO! This is similar to a Harney and Sons, Hot Cinnamon Spice, but in my opinion better. It tastes sweet even though it is not sweetened.
Answer: It does but stronger, more intense in flavor. I love constant comment too, this is just a similar stronger type version.
Answer: It tastes more like Good Earth Sweet and Spicy.
Answer: It has a stronger flavors and even the tea bags have larger peices, I prefer the loose tea as I can control the steeping better.
Answer: No this is so much better, they use orange, cinnamon oil with just a touch of clove and it is amazing. Have never served this to anyone that doesn't ask how I got such great flavoring!
Answer: It's in that family, but a lot stronger. My favorite tea, by far.
Answer: Kind of, but it’s better. There’s more cinnamon.
Answer: It is a Christmas gift for my wife. I do not know the answer
Q:
Are there artificial flavors/ingredients in the orange cinnamon tea, and if yes, what?
Answer: Grace, As far as I know there are not artificial flavors. There are tiny bits of orange peel and cinnamon in the tea. You would have to ask the supplier that question for more information.
Answer: Oh, it does say artificial cinnamon flavor--when I looked that up I found it is not much different than cinnamon, almost chemically identical.
Answer: It says it contains artificial flavors on the package--but does not identify them.
Q:
Does the tea have caffeine?
Answer: THe brand has both: with or without caffeine. I order both packages to have choices when i feel like a nice cup of tea. This tea is so yummy.
Answer: I believe their traditional Market Spice uses black tea, so yes.. However, they also make the same orange-cinnamon style with white, green and rooibos.
Answer: Yes. A delightful kick with a delightful taste.
Q:
How many cups of tea does this one-pound package make?
Answer: Hi, Between 150-200 cups depending on the amount of tea you are using. :-)
Answer: I think it depends on the size you use. I prefer to use less for hot tea then I do cold tea. It will make quiet a few cups, 25+ I'd say.
Q:
How does the loose leaf compare with the bags? Any loss of flaver--especially over time?
Answer: Haven't bought the tea bags for a couple of years now. I liked the loose leaf better because I can make it stronger or weaker depending on how I want it for the day. I've had the loose leaf for over six months before I get to the sealed bag and I've not noticed any difference.
Answer: I've been buying the one-pound bag for years, 3 pounds at a time. (I'm wicked addicted.) I keep them frozen, and don't notice any deterioration over a three-month period. About once a week I put enough in a sealed jar to last me about the week.
Answer: Hi, The loose leaf actually has been said to have more flavor. It
Answer: I would not say a loss of flavor. If you are concerned, you can always store tea in the freezer.
Answer: It's stronger. Have not detected any loss of flavor.
Answer: I prefer the leaves as it seems to give a better flavor and I can control how strong I want my tea to be. I found that storing it in the freezer and putting just enough for a week in a sealed glass jar works. If you put too much in the jar, it will lose some of its flavor after a while. So best to store the majority of the leaves in your freezer. It is soooo good!
Q:
What is the best used by date on the package that I would receive?
Answer: I purchase Market Spice by the pound and brew it strong in a carafe. That pound lasts for several months. For constant quality, the most important point is to transfer the tea to sealed glass containers as soon as received, and store in a cool and shaded place. If you will take these precautions, tea life should be almost indefinite.
Answer: I keep it in a zip lock bag in the freezer, take out small amounts and it is good for almost a year.
Q:
does this have cloves too? I cannot find any mention of it.
Answer: I do not see cloves in my tea
Q:
what are the artificial flavors
Q:
Does anybody have nutrition information for this tea? Specifically wondering about sugars and carbs.
Answer: I'm am a "no-sugar" freak and I stay away from empty carbs. I discovered this tea and I fell in love with it. I usually make tea, pour it in a glass jar and into the fridge. Nice cold Iced tea.
Answer: There are no added sugars listed in the ingredients.
Q:
Just want to confirm...this product is loose leaf tea, right?
Answer: Yes, it is loose leaf. Want to warn you, however. It is REALLY sweet. If that suits you, you are in luck. I, however, am not a fan of sweet tea; can't drink it.
Answer: Hi Jerome. Yes, this is a 1 lb. bag of loose leaf tea.
Answer: Yes, the 1 pound bag is loose leaf (and phenomenal)
Answer: Yes, and it was much bigger than I expected. I still have so much left.
Answer: Yes, it is.
Answer: Yes it is
Q:
How many calories in one serving?
Answer: Zero
Q:
Dear Marketspice, I can't help but notice that the label says do not store in plastic and it comes in plastic. What's up with that?
Answer: I believe that the packaging this tea comes in is of a different plastic formulation that is not effected by the oils in the tea. If you use a regular plastic spoon, the oils will actually appear to melt the plastic of the spoon surface. Most essential oils react with plastic if not diluted, I have used a plastic cup to grab a drink of this tea with no problem, but storing the tea in plastic is not a good idea as the plastic will be damaged.
Answer: Good question! The orange oil reacts with plastic and metal. I successfully store this tea in glass bottles. It's stable until the shipping bag is opened.
Answer: It has a cinnamon/ orange type of oil that could stain your Tupperware or whatever plastic you put it in..but the tea is fantastic..I keep mine in a glass jar..
Answer: I received my order in a foil lined plastic bag. I tried storing the bags in a plastic container (ignoring instructions) and within days the cinnamon oil ate through the bags into the sides of the container and when I tried to remove them they tore open. I salvaged what I could and stored them in a glass jar. No more problems.
Answer: I wondered the same. All I can figure is that I think it uses cinnamon oil and/or orange oil, and it must interact with plastic and metal. Just my best guess.
Answer: It’s like a lightweight foil type packaging
Q:
On a scale of 1 to 5, 0 being decaffeinated, what is the caffeine content? Thanks, Mark.
Answer: I LOVE this tea!! But, I always drink it mid-day because it is black tea which has more caffeine than green tea. I am not sure where to place it on your scale since I do not know for sure its caffeine content. They do make this flavor in green tea too, which would have less caffeine. I do not feel jittery after drinking it, like I do with a cup of coffee in the afternoon, so I know it has much less than coffee. Sorry I am not too much help.
Answer: The base tea is black tea. So however much caffeine it contains would provided an example. For example, isn't Lipton tea a black tea?
Answer: Hi Mark,
Answer: Probably ought to ask market spice tea . It's not decaf, but not real strong IMHO. Been drinking this stuff for over 45 years, and it's my favorite. Phone number for market spice is 800-735-7198.
Q:
Do you sell just orange spice tea in the 1 lb or have you always called it cinnamon orange spice tea?
Q:
What size glass jar should I buy to hold one pound of this tea?
Answer: I use a large glass peanut butter jar which i keep in the freezer. I put a smaller amount in a glass jar which i keep in the cupboard. NEVER USE PLASTIC. i did once and wasted a whole bag. Does anyone know of any stores outside of Seattle that sell the tea?
Answer: A large glass spaghetti sauce jar with screw on lid should hold most, if not all the tea. If there is any excess, put in smaller jar and use first. Hope this helps!
Answer: I put mine - bag clipped with clothespin - into a gallon ziplock and into the freezer (thinking that will keep it fresher). I would think it would easily fit in a quart-size glass jar - actually even smaller. I'd make sure it was an air tight jar.
Answer: I put mine - bag clipped with clothespin - into a gallon ziplock and into the freezer (thinking that will keep it fresher). I only have about 2 cups a day, so it lasts several months. I would think it would fit in a pint-sized glass jar. I'd make sure it had an air tight lid.
Answer: I've been a fan of Market Spice Tea for over 20 years. Here's what I do. Get a quart or larger glass or terracotta container w/ an air tight lid. Keep that on you counter top. Keep the rest in the freezer. Looking at the other comments, I see that's what they suggest.
Answer: It fits in a half gallon jar, and Marketspice has one for sale for $6.95 on their website, www.marketspice.com.
Answer: If I were you, I would keep the bag in the freezer, and just keep out as much as you can use in a few weeks. If you keep it at room temperature for a long time it will go rancid, and it does take a while to go through a whole 1 pound bag (I have 1-2 cups a day, and it takes me at least 6 months).
Answer: About 1.5 liters. I have a 1 liter jar which is a bit small, so the remainder stays in the bag and I use that first.
Answer: Is there anything magical about using a glass jar, as opposed to a plastic jar, as long as it has a tight lid?
Answer: It doesn't all fit in a large size mason jar or whatever it is that I use. But I don't think you'd want anything larger than a quart. What doesn't fit in the jar I use, I just put in its bag in a freezer bag and keep it in the freezer till there's room in the big jar and I haven't noticed any problem with that.
Q:
What is the difference between frustration-free packaging and standard packaging?
Q:
Is there a trick to steeping this? I've had the tea in bags before and loved it, but this is totally flavorless after steeping for 10 min. Help!
Answer: I use a cup at a time drip system. I have never had a problem with it being flavorless. I have taken some to work and use a tea ball to steep it there. I have never had it fail! I usually use a little less because the flavor is strong.
Answer: That’s odd—-it’s normally very flavorful when I make it. Are you bringing the water to a full boil? I make a big batch for iced tea by placing it loose in cold water and bringing it to a boil in a Pyrex pitcher, but you could use a pot. Good luck!
Answer: Use boiling hot water, using a generous teaspoon per cup. We keep the tea in the freezer to preserve the volatile oils from evaporating or going rancid.
Answer: When I use the loose tea I generally make a pouch of cheese cloth for the tea and have noticed no problem with the flavor or I use a wire steeper, with either method I do not pack the tea tightly in the container to allow for water flow around the tea leaves.
Answer: I make it using a percolator. And I use more tea than they recommend to get the flavor as strong as it should be.
Answer: When I use it to make ice tea, I leave the half filled tea ball in for an hour, then I take it out and add ice.
Answer: We use one scoop per cup of water. Then steep it for five minutes. Lots of flavor. I think our scoop is about 1.5 - 2tsp.
Answer: I use 1 T. Per quart which is the size of my teapot and it is FULLBODIED. So, I am not certain what might be your difficulty unless you aren't using enough.
Q:
What type of cinnamon is used in this tea? i understand ceylon is the best for health purposes. thank you!
Q:
The label lists artificial flavor. Can you tell me what artificial flavors are in the tea please?
Answer: No idea.
Product reviews of MarketSpice Cinnamon Orange Tea 16 oz(454 g)
D. Moss : Unbelievably Delicious!!!!!
This is the most amazing tea I have ever tasted!!!! The cinnamon flavor is so intense, you would think it has sweetener in it!!! Love love love it!!! And every time we serve it to dinner guests, it gets rave reviews!!!
DocHolliday : Not what is pictured.
What is pictured is the official Market Spice Tea that I’ve bought many times. What I received was tea in generic plastic packaging, with no label. The tea was dull, not bright. The taste was no where near the tea in official Market Spice packages. The expiration date was a month out, an impossible pace to drink the tea. I am totally unhappy. ,The
Financially Yours : My Favorite Hot Beverage
I've been drinking MarketSpice for 30 years at the rate of couple of cups everyday at work. So buying in bulk makes sense.
Just buy a tea ball ( I prefer the scissors clamp style tea ball in combination with an all metal thermal cup to keep the tea warm. You don't want any rubber or plastic in contact with the citric oils),
Even though $20 or $25 dollars for tea seems like a lot to pay..A 1 lb. bag will last 3 months if you keep it in glass container in the freezer. Now start comparing what you would pay for two cups a day of, say, Chai tea from $tarbuck$ at $3 or $4 a cup. It should pay for itself in a week or so. Exceptional taste combined with a great value. That's a ***** star deal!
GuyUsesMac : Not what it use to be
This tea I have been drinking for a couple of years now, and absolutely love it. I have given up soda because I found something that has a really good flavor and not just water down tea. That is until I purchase the last two bags. This tea has gone from a wonderful orange / cinnamon flavor that is naturally sweetened to a water down weak tea. I am not sure if this has something to do with manufacturing during this crazy covid time, but this tea went from a solid 10 to a 1 from one purchase to the next.
patricia : Great tea
I had this tea many years ago when I lived in the Seattle area. It still has that wonderful aroma and flavor. I am very happy to re-discover it. The quality is excellent and a good price on Amazon.
donna stafford : Delicious
Our local tea shop changed their house spiced tea. I looked and tried many spice teas and this is the closest to the old favorite.
It is a slightly sweet Orange and cinnamon spice tea. Very fragrant. A delight to drink. It is caffeinated, as was our old one. Complex and spicy.
Winnie : OMGOSH this smells and tastes amazing!
I had this tea at daughter's house in Germany! She ordered it direct from the company (Marketspice) in San Francisco. Amazon has it for quite a bit less and Prime shipping! It is the best SMELLING tea I have ever found, and it tastes as good as it smells. If you love orange and cinnamon, this is A-MAZING tea! And 16 oz is a LOT of tea- enough to share!
Amazon Customer : Best Tea I've Ever Had
I'm a big tea fan and this is by far the best tea I've had without a doubt. Strong, sweet, and almost addictive in a good way. It is very spicy (not hot spicy). Makes excellent iced tea, but I love warm tea the most. Highly recommended. Buy the 1lb bag and a high quality infuser, not the tea bag boxes. They are way over priced.
jag512 : My go-to morning tea - just love it!
I first bought this on a visit to see my sister and her family in Seattle, and we, of course, visited the fish market. I was looking for a gift for my son's girlfriend who loves tea, and wandered into this store, which smelled heavenly. Not only did I buy some for her, but I also bought a pound for myself - and now I reorder off of Amazon. I love, love, love this tea! I used to buy the San Fran cinnamon orange but this is so flavorful. I do store it in a glass jar with a rubber seal - the oils can damage regular packaging, so plan accordingly. You will LOVE this tea if you love the flavors of cinnamon and orange. I use about 1 teaspoon per cup (8 oz.) and it is awesome. Plus it makes my kitchen smell wonderful too. I've tried the tea bags and I have to say that I don't like those as much as I like the loose tea. This is absolutely my current fave.
Jennifer Borley : Very good quality
I keep reordering this tea, really good quality. Been drinking pike street tea through local restaurants, this allows me to make just as good of a cup of tea at home. Will keep ordering
Loey : Great taste, awful results
And can't use it. It gives me a horrendous headache
K West : Market Spice tea is a taste of Seattle
MS Orange Spice tea has been my favorite since I first discovered it at Pike Place Market. Since moving 20 years ago, I'm so glad to still be able to get it, fresh. It makes a delicious sun tea too.
The tea arrived quickly, and was well packaged.
K. Baker : Tea is Delicious and Is Great Cold!
This tea is delicious, if you're OK with Cinnamon. What is great about this tea is that the cinnamon is naturally sweet, and the tea is good without adding sugar. I'm 60 years old and my friends and I used this tea to wean ourselves from diet cola drinks. Now instead of drinking gallons of diet colas, I drink a couple of glasses of iced MarketSpice Cinnamon Orange Tea daily. I make the iced version using an IceTea Maker. ( I used to make it on the stove, but I kept boiling the water, walking away, and coming back to a dry scorching hot pan.) I put a small coffee filter in the ice tea maker and use 1/4 cup of the tea leaves. I then place 4 cups of ice in a pitcher and set it under the ice tea maker. I fill the ice tea maker with 4 cups of water, when the ice tea is about half-way done, I add another 2 cups. (On my ice tea maker, if I fill it with 6 cups at the start, it will overflow). I then put the pitcher in the refrigerator and enjoy my 2 quarters of cinnamon orange tea!
Richard G. : Thanks Amazon
I drink a 22 oz. mug of this tea almost every morning. For years I ordered this tea blend from a company in San Francisco, but they stopped making it. This blend is just as good, and I can use Amazon Prime shipping to get it quickly. Very happy. Keep selling this, Amazon: I’m addicted to this for my morning caffeine.
TexasBarngirl : Don’t buy this tea!
Tea is overpowering with artificial flavoring.
I wish I could return!! Not my cup
Of tea!!!

M. Lewis : Very tasty
Love the scent and taste of this tea
Melinda Day : Taste is wonderful!
Love the full flavor and freshness of this tea.
Lollabridges : As advertised
Have not bought this in a long time but it’s the tea I remembered. The vendor delivered the product in a timely manner and was competitively priced.
Phantom Tim : My family loves this tea
I first tried this tea a couple months ago while visiting Pike Place Market in Seattle. I really enjoyed it, so I picked up a box and brought it home with me (after using a few of the tea bags while still in my hotel room). My wife tried the tea once I returned home, and she loved it. In fact, we enjoyed this delicious tea so much, we'd used it all up within a few days. Knowing how quickly we'd gone through the box that I bought, I bought a pound of loose tea from Amazon.
That was a wise decision -- I'd never bought loose tea before, and now I finally understand why people speak so highly of it. The flavors are even stronger than they were in the bagged version. In terms of price, you really can't beat the value that you get when you buy by the pound.
This tea has a blend of orange peel, cinnamon oil, and cloves. It reminds me of the Hot Tamales candies with a hint of orange. Somehow, the combination of the orange and the cinnamon oil tricks your tongue into detecting sweetness, even though there are no sweeteners.
And if the weather is hot, I recommend brewing some iced tea with this. We've served it to visiting friends and family members, and they always comment on how much they like the tea, and ask about it.
A pound of tea might seem like a lot, and you'd be wise to try a smaller amount first, to make sure you like it, but if you like Marketspice tea as much as I do, this is a great way to stay stocked.
J & L Baker : Good taste, good price.
Great tasting tea. Leaves are very broken up. Just pieces really. Cost them a star; probubly should have cost them more with the REALLY Cheap Packaging.
I will buy again.
ChazDSam : Not consistent.
First bag ordered was awesome. Second bag ordered a month later, had half the cinnamon flavor and no orange sweetness. Doubled up the quantity used, but made no difference. Taste of cinnamon with an odd, not very good flavor. Hesitant to reorder.
Daffodil : Mixed review
A pretty good deal, I suppose. Our local tea store charges much more per ounce. However, this bag shipped from Amazon didn't have the fortissimo pungent aroma when opening the (rather thin) bag. Noticed the expiration date. September. It's May. Freshness has basically gone and it's already on its last leg. I hope they improve the packaging to a more time-resistant plastic bag. Also, when it gets this old they should probably sell it at a discount locally instead of ship it to unsuspecting buyers. Taste is good, not "grab a book and sit & sip for an hour fabulous".
AUGUST UPDATE: After placing the tea in a glass storage jar it revitalized the leaves. The September expiration date hasn't changed, of course, but it seems fresher than when I first opened the bag. Might buy again, but may try to find another seller that's just as reasonable in price that sells fresher product.
CBG : A strong tea for winter
I really enjoy this tea! I brew this tea stong and like the blend of cinnamon, citrus, and orange pekoe flavors. Do not put this tea in plastic or styrofoam cups!
C.Grider : Naturally sweet
I hunted for this cinnamon orange tea, because I never forgot about a delicious tea I used to get at a (long-closed) restaurant on the Pearl Street Mall in Boulder, CO. This is the naturally sweet tasting tea that I remembered.
Brett J. Erb : Great Flavor But Dryed OUT
Good Flavor But the tea was relatively Dry . The oil in the tea makes it better.
Amazon Customer : My Favorite Tea
This tea has a very strong cinnamon flavor that needs no additions. No milk, or sugar or anything. It's the perfect combination of sweet and spice drinkable at any time. It's also good chilled. I will steep tea and then let it cool on the counter before putting it in the refrigerator. I originally bought this out in Seattle but am very glad it's available on line and that I can have it in 2 days when I'm running low!
Lollabridges : As advertised
Have not bought this in a long time but it’s the tea I remembered. The vendor delivered the product in a timely manner and was competitively priced.
Joyful Living : This Tea Is DELICIOUS!!! So Good It Doesn't Need Cream or Honey.
I first had a cup of this tea at a friend of mine, a naturopathic doctor, at her B&B on the North Coast of Oregon. The fragrance was exquisite but I didn't let that go to my head. Sometimes the fragrance of a tea can be lovely but the actual taste of the tea is a letdown. NOT in this case. VAVOOM!!! The taste is mind-blowingly delicious. It smells and tastes like it has essential oils in it to enhance the taste and fragrance. Believe me, that works! I am addicted.
NOTE: I quickly learned to put 3 Tablespoons in the glass tea infuser of my 4 cup glass teapot to get the strength I want. Two Tablespoons is too mild for me but, of course, that is a matter of personal preference.
knittygirl52 : Best tea ever!
This is my all time favorite tea. In years gone by, it was something of a pain to purchase: find the company (royal pain without internet!), order the tea, get enough of it to make the shipping cost seem worthwhile, share it with friends and family because I purchased more than I needed, brew, drink, eventually run out of it long enough after the original purchase that I can't find the information again and start the process all over. But now I can order through Amazon, get Prime Shipping, and so the process is simple!
Be aware that this tea must be stored in a tight glass container--I use Ball jars. It is spicy and sweet and I love it.
CSW : Market Spice Tea drinker since 1979!!
This tea is the best! I have been a Market Spice Tea drinker since 1979. No other tea comes close. The aromas of Orange oil, cinnamon and spice fill my kitchen. I used to order from Seattle Pike Street Market and gladly paid the $8.00 shipping, this tea is worth it! So pleased that it is now available on Amazon Prime with free shipping!.
C.Grider : Naturally sweet
I hunted for this cinnamon orange tea, because I never forgot about a delicious tea I used to get at a (long-closed) restaurant on the Pearl Street Mall in Boulder, CO. This is the naturally sweet tasting tea that I remembered.
peace warrior : This is really great cinnamon flavored orange black tea.
The best tasting orange cinnamon tea i have experienced is good earths Sweet-Spicey tea but...and its a huge but... the tea varies from batch to batch and some is really cinnamon like red hots flavored and the next batch is 1/2 as strong and it would take 2 tea bags to get the same intensity, whereas I have bought 3 orders of this tea and it consistently delivers a great cinnamon/orange flavored tea. It is inexpensive in the loose form and I put it in a metal tea ball and use 1 tea ball per tea pot (3 cups) to get a nice cup of tea, sometimes I will dilute it to around 4 cups per tea ball and when the Good Earth was really strong adding 1 tea bag of that to a tea ball per 4 cups in the tea pot was really nice.
Get it if you like a strong cinnamon flavored tea you wont be sorry, all the other tea companies seem to be hit or miss getting consistant flavors from their teas, just look at Bigalows or Good Earths reviews and read the negative reviews.
KC Carnivore : Best Cinnamon Orange Tea
The cinnamon orange tea arrived today. When I opened the package I did not expect the wonderful aroma that immediately made my kitchen smell so good. Well, I just had to brew a pot of tea for my husband and me to sip this afternoon. I'm so glad I did! We are both enjoying a cup now and the flavor is the best cinnamon orange tea I have ever had. This tea will surely become one of our favorites.
Rhonda J. wilkinson : good tea!
got this tea in and its good! had to give a good review to counter act people who give reviews for things like its messy because its loose leaf! really you order loose leaf. Or it messed up their precious PLASTIC infuser. I hope people read the reviews. I did not find the tea to be excessively full of cinnamon oil. It has a nice cinnamon and orange flavor which is hard to find in loose leaf for me and it had a added nice surprise for me to be from seattle.
M. Jean Scott : Full of Flavor!
No more having to travel to Pike Place Market in Seattle, Washington to get my tea fix! This is the real deal! Full-flavored cinnamon and orange infused tea. Real flavors. Real tea richness. Will be purchasing on a regular basis.
Paul : Awesome presentation, impeccable and exquisite flavor
Black Tie Mercantile delivers this in an awesome black box, and the tea inside is heavenly.
Drink the tea after steeping 3-5 min (longer for stronger cinnamon bite). Store in airtight glass jar.
Rule of thumb: This tea has residual flavor that will stick in a tea filter or pot; either clean thoroughly or dedicate one tea filter/pot to this.
Shelley Brosnan : Yum - Just like what you taste at Pike Street Market if you "Perc" It!
I use 2 rounded teaspoons per 6 oz cup of cold water through my coffee percolator. I "perk" a pot for a good 30 minutes and not only does it make the entire first floor of the house smell inviting and marvelous, BUT IT TASTES JUST LIKE THE TEA sample you get at Pike Street Market or like they serve at Gene Juarez Salons. It is soooo good!!! (It makes great ice-tea too). I used to buy the teabags and/or this product (the loose tea) for years but could never get the tea to resemble or taste like what I would have at the Market or at the Salon. Finally the lightbulb went on for me (I guess sometimes I am slow - ha!) --"perk the life out of it!" First of all, the teabags cannot duplicate what you find brewed at the Market. MarketSpice suggests 1 teaspoon of loose tea per 4 cups of cold water in a tea-ball and bringing it to a full, rolling boil for 3-5 minutes. Optionally, they suggest using 4 teaspoons to 10 cups of water and "perking" it. I haven't found that that amount of tea is not adequate to replicate the very unique and delightful flavor they use to sell it to you. Of course some may like it weaker and then I say "go for it" based on their recommendations and your tastes. But as for me and my household, two rounded teaspoons per cup and "perked" for a good 30 minutes delivers the same great desired taste that you get at the Pike Street Market. You can't go wrong! The 16 oz. bag lasts longer and goes further than I had thought it would - even with making the tea stronger than suggested.
joop : I am their willing crack monkey
My sister (who reviewed the MST bags) turned me on to this tea in January.
I was a chai girl up to that point, a cup in the morning. I could generally take it or leave it.
Now no day is complete without my beloved MST. I began with bags, which are amazing. I upped it to loose tea pound bags and have become a total tea person. I do believe I will branch out this time and order some rooibos and green versions--may as well make the shipping charge worth the time.
I can't say enough about this sweet, spicy stuff. It needs nothing but one enormous cup because a little one just won't do. Prepare to become addicted. Oh, and I've lost a lot of weight, too, because I no longer drink coffee with creamers and truly have no sweet cravings anymore. If that doesn't justify buying it by the pound, nothing will! Enjoy this amazing brew! And share it with a friend!
LS : Healing and tasty!
I am VERY picky about tea. Most teas taste too watery to me. But this tea is full of flavor! I personally enjoy the strong cinnamon flavor. I enjoy it with some raw, local honey, and a little milk. We've attributed this tea to miraculous recoveries from colds and flus. My mother was feeling ill one night while at my aunts house - very sore throat, stuffed up, couldn't sleep, and was coughing non stop. My aunt made my mother 3 glasses of this tea and by morning, she felt 90% better. I gave this tea to my boyfriend when he started getting sick, and the coughing has mostly abaited and he's feeling more normal. Now that I have 1 lbs of this tea, I plan to enjoy it on chilly nights and mornings. I store it in a 16 oz Teavana tin, in the fridge to preserve freshness. I look forward to many many many more bags of this delicious loose leaf!
knittygirl52 : Best tea ever!
Steve J. : Fantastic Tea
This tea is awesome. I bought a small bag when I was at Pike's market a few years ago. I loved it and was sorry I had not bought more. When I saw this on Amazon I wasn't sure it would be as good. I didn't need to worry. It is as good or better than what I bought in Seattle. It was fresher and had a stronger flavor and aroma. I drink it every day. I will be reordering soon.
Amazon Customer : Bad taste
This lastest package of MarketSpice Cinnamon-Orange tea (which I ordered on 2/1/21) has a bad taste to it. Other packages of this tea that I have purchased in the past all tasted very good. It tastes like maybe there is something missing from the ingrediants. I've wasted $26 because Amazon will not allow me to return this tea. The expiration date is 7/15/21. I would like a replacement bag instead.
CBG : A strong tea for winter
I really enjoy this tea! I brew this tea stong and like the blend of cinnamon, citrus, and orange pekoe flavors. Do not put this tea in plastic or styrofoam cups!
Melinda Day : Taste is wonderful!
Love the full flavor and freshness of this tea.
