Directions

does this tea have caffeine?

Answer: Yes, but being the first picked, very delicate tea leaves, it only has 15mg per 8 oz as opposed to 120mg for a cup of coffee. It tends to be flavoured with other stuff as it has little flavor of its own.

Answer: yes it does but its not as potent as the coffee caffeine........the plus side is that there are no additives in this tea, most flavored teas put hibiscus in everything and I dont do well with that. I love it.

I bought my box of this tea on the ground, not Amazon. I know sometimes the sub and save products can be near expiration or be stale. I've had that issue sometimes. So, cannot speak to the sub/save version's quality.

The tea itself is lovely. The white tea tastes like a lighter version of green tea, and the pear taste is super subtle. But the aroma--wow, that's just such a pleasure. Sniffing is a big part of the pleasure of this gentle tea. This is great for folks who want the pleasurable experience of teabags--they are beautiful, pyramidal mesh bags, no string, but feel "high class"--rather than using loose leaves.

If you hate strong tasting or overly complex tea flavor combos, this is a great one to try. Easy in the mouth, wonderful in the nose, and with the antioxidants we all want from green/white tea.

This tea is delicious! I drink it everyday. It has a mild, smooth taste and the hint of pear tastes like I added fresh pear. It doesn't taste fake or chemically like other fruit infused teas can. I wish it had a string to retrieve the teabag so I didn't have to bring a spoon along. Thats the only thing that prevents a 5 star rating.

I purchased this tea for someone who enjoys Trader Joe's white pomegranate tea, and unfortunately it was not a good substitute. Though I haven't tried it myself I was told it had a strong floral taste and aroma which to that particular tea drinker was undesirable. I am rating 4 stars since this is such a subjective judgement, and I have no doubts about this being a high quality product.

IrishFire : This Tea is Lovely

I'm a fan! This tea is not bitter, and forgives a wide range of temps and steep times. In fact, my favorite way to drink it is to throw a bag into room-temperature water to flavor the water. This works well through 3-4 refills, by which time I tend to forget and leave the room. Steeping for hours does finally bring the bitterness out, so that's when I toss it.

The "green" flavor of the tea is much stronger than most white teas. It reminds me of a white and green 'fusion' tea by Stash, though I prefer this Revolution tea. The pear flavor is delicious, tastes like real pear, and matches the strength of the strong white tea (that sounds funny as I type it - strong white tea?!) well. If you like green AND white tea, and you like pears, give this a shot. I'm really very fond of it.

The package comes with a "resealable freshness bag," though I've never felt the need for one before and I'm not sure I need one now. It doesn't get in the way, and it's there if I want to travel without risking leaking tea dust . . . not that there is any tea dust. The tea leaves are as large as loose leaf tea, which might be why it holds up through more steeps than anything else I have in a teabag, and they're very green. I suspect it still has more moisture in the leaves than most teas, but since I'm reluctant to rip a bag open to perform tests, that will remain a suspicion.

There's no string on the teabags, and they're the fancy pyramid type. They feel very nice. This is a distant concern compared to the flavor (which, as I mentioned, I am very fond of), but it's worth a mention.

Every Revolution product I have tried has been a wonderful experience. Revolution knows how to balance the inherit flavors of tea leaves with other ingredients which make each tea unique and enjoyable.

Better Than The Rest

I've been buying this particular tea consecutively for the better half of a year now, and I simply love it. No other pomegranate tea comes close to this one in terms of quality and taste. For example, Trader Joe's store brand (while good) seems as if it has been sweetened (to the point where it's too sweet), and surprisingly the tea turns red after less than a minute of seeping indicating that coloring was added (I didn't check the ingredients, so I may be wrong about this). There's also Yogi's pomegranate tea which uses a green tea and creates an entirely different taste. I liked it; didn't love it.

Complimenting Flavors

Pomegranates are often compared to apples. In fact, pomegranate means "seeded apple" (from latin: pomum - apple and granatus - seeded), and like an apple the fruit is sweet and tart, but has a very strong and distinct flavor. Thus, a light white tea is the perfect companion; it doesn't overpower the pomegranate flavor but allows it to mingle on the tongue. Likewise, the amount of pomegranate, or rather the intensity of the pomegranate flavor, is truly perfect. No flavor overpowers the other, but rather all the flavors compliment one another.

Brewing

I'm sure someone out there will say that I'm butchering tea when I brew this, but when I do, I leave the tea bag in the mug until I've consumed it all. I find that the taste never gets too strong and never gets bitter. Typically this is only the case for herbal teas, which don't become overpowered since they contain no tea leaves. In this case the same is true, perhaps because it is a white tea which is naturally light. The tea itself literally contains dried pomegranate seeds (flesh included). Do you know that taste you get a few moments after you eat a pomegranate seed? (If you don't, try it! It's wonderful.) That initial bite from the tartness followed by sweetness you get (or at least I get) from a pomegranate is captured in this tea, and it makes sense! There's pomegranate seeds in there!

Conclusion

Buy this tea! I was a little skeptical about my first purchase since I was buying 6 boxes, but it was a great choice that I do not in the least bit regret. I've bought this for myself and for family, with everyone absolutely loving it. Best $20 I have ever spent (and continue to spend)!

As an ex-Brit. steeped (pun intended!) in strong black tea, I wasn't sure about this, but Revolution White Pomegranate tea is absolutely delicious, light yet flavorful. The low caffeine content makes it ideal for an evening pot of tea and of course,iced tea. I hesitated to recommend it in case you run out of it!
