The Rebecca Review : Hibiscus Flowers
Researchers in Taiwan have found that an extract of hibiscus flower contains some of the same health-giving compounds as red wine and tea. Many folk medicine traditions use the hibiscus flower to treat high blood pressure and liver problems." ~Susan Aldridge, PhD, medical journalist
The day after happening upon the idea of blending brewed and cooled Passion Herbal Infusion with orange juice, I found the lovely Tazo Iced Tea Collection. They have a recipe for Passion Lemonade and a Passion Tea Smoothie. I'm happy to blend orange juice, a packet of stevia and cooled brewed Passion tea. The taste is surprisingly good.
Ingredients: Hibiscus flowers, natural tropical flavors, citric acid, orange peel, licorice root, cinnamon bark, rose hips. Lemongrass and red poppy.
The deep purple/red color and hibiscus fragrance is enough to make anyone passionate about tea. Yet, is this really tea? It looks like tea, but it is really an herbal infusion made by steeping hibiscus flowers, orange peel, licorice, cinnamon, rose hips, lemongrass and red poppy in a swirling of hot water.
The flavor is slightly reminiscent of hot apple cider or hot cranberry juice. This tea leaves a tingle on your tongue and I think it goes very well with a spoonful of honey.
I do think you need two tea bags for each experience, so as to fully intoxicate the senses and experience the magic of the ingredients.
Caffeine Free. Since the scent of orange reduces anxiety and hibiscus blossoms are said to lower blood pressure, this tea is a wonderful calming blend.
NOTE: Many of my health/herb books say hibiscus flowers are not recommended during pregnancy. Please consult with your doctor before drinking herbal teas.

Good price, good product.
Marilyn Jenett : Darn! Genetically Engineered...
I don't post negative reviews if I simply don't care for a product - as a businesswoman I would rather support companies who offer quality products. I came to post this review because I wish to contribute to consumer awareness.
A friend who knows I'm a health nut recommended this tea - Passion flavor. I purchased a box and brewed a cup. I loved the taste so much that I wanted to read everything on the box about it. I was truly shocked to see in small print: "Partially produced with genetic engineering."
I am used to seeing "non-GMO" labels since I only purchase organic or non-GMO, but I had never seen a product state that it is genetically engineered. So I researched and found that in 2016 Vermont became the first state to pass a law requiring genetically engineered foods to be labeled (the opposite side of “non-GMO” labeling). After that, the big brands followed and I assume many other states have also.
Tazo is owned by Starbucks, certainly a big brand, so now it makes more sense why their packages are labeled. But I can't give a company integrity points for truth in labeling if they produce a product that contains pesticides and toxins...and especially if they don't reveal it on their website or advertising. I then found many sites that list tea brands with harmful substances and Tazo is included.
With Starbucks funds behind them, it’s surprising and disappointing that Tazo hasn’t at the very least added organic or non-GMO teas to their product line – like most popular tea companies. In my opinion, it would increase their revenues tremendously, allowing them to replace their GMO products entirely - a great marketing move while contributing to consumer health.
I've never liked coffee so thankfully I'm no Starbucks fan either.
By the way, my friend was just as shocked when I told him to read the box.

I live in a small town and cannot find this kind of tea locally. I shopped around and found this to be a good deal. It is easy to order and ships quickly. I make iced tea from these by the pitcher so I go through it quickly.
sifelaver : Sweet and tangy
This review is for the "passion" flavor.
I love this tea. I have been drinking it for years. Recently I've switched to Bigelow's Red Raspberry tea because it's easier to come by and have been drinking that for a while thinking I had found my new favorite. I then did a side-by-side comparison with Tazo's Passion and the difference is remarkable.
Passion has so much flavor, so much zing and natural sweetness that it made Red Raspberry taste like hot water when consumed side-by-side.
I think the only way I will be able to enjoy Red Raspberry again is if I stay away from Passion for a while. The best!
A. Chhin : Good stuff
My husband love the passion tea. Especially when it is iced during the summer. Our own version of shaken passion fruit tea.
Nancy G. : Love this tea!
Obsessed with this tea. I drink it all day as an iced tea. Love it!!

good price
A. Dip : Wrong Product
Wrong product shipped, which a no return policy....I love this Tazo Passion tea, first of all. I've stopped drinking caffeine and really enjoy drinking this all times of the day. I ordered the passion fruit and got box of six of Tazo China Green Tips--never even heard of it before and certainly do not want six boxes of it. There was a no refund policy, but thankfully amazon refunded me.
The outer box that the six tea boxes came in had passion printed on it, but the contents were not passion tea.
Doodles : Makes great iced-tea!
This product is fantastic and the best on the market. I use it to make iced tea like they do at Starbucks. It's pricey to buy individual boxes in the store so I picked up this pack of 6 and it's a great deal! I've tried every version of other brands and Tazo is the best!
Maydaybaby : Passion Tea
I love this tea cold or hot but it is hard to find in the stores. Being able to order it at Amazon has been extremely helpful and I am glad to be able to get it online. It has a strong fruity taste.
Sable S : Almost every bag in the 6 boxes is defective
Almost every tea bag is cut open halfway across the bottom and all of the loose tea inside leaks out into the water.
Charles M. Ewing : Great deal on excellent tea
I love this tea. The only thing is that I was hoping to get the same kind of bag you get when buying this tea at Starbucks.
The teabags at Starbucks are simply better. Quicker soaking and better drainage. But the tea is great either way.
H. Ritchey : Spa Quality Herbal Tea
This is one of my favorite herbal teas. It has a delightful flavor both hot and iced.
Previous reviewers have indicated they find the flavor very strong - there are two easy solutions for this. Brew it with a greater quantity of water or reduce the seeping time, both amount to the same thing pretty much. I'll typically get the equivalent of 3x 8oz glasses per tea bag.
I went to a fancy spa last year for Mother's Day as a treat for my mom. She raved about the excellent herbal iced tea they had in the serenity room. I agreed with her, and found the taste very familiar. Sure enough, I saw them brewing it using the Tazo Passion. So when I want to do an at home pampering day, I'll pop one of these in to brew and voila! Instant relaxation.

Jackie : Yummy and Healthy
This is my favorite tea of all time. I am excited that I could get this many at once. If you love tea, you have got to taste this one and Tazo is a great brand. It has a fruity taste that is delicious and unusual. I have converted my husband from sodas to this. I make a pitcher of this and serve cold. You can also drink it hot. What a fabulous option for a cold drink with wonderfully healthy qualities. Passion fruit, hibiscus and other ingredients make this a magical tea to use!!! I cannot say enough about it. Delicious!!!!!!!!
C. Smith : This is my Passion!
Tazo Passion is my one of my favorite teas. I was so happy to find it here at a great price. Always a lovely way to end the day!

You can drink this tea hot or cold.
This tea has a very strong flavor to it.
I didn't know this, but starbucks sells this too. If you don't mind spending 3-5 bucks, you can try it yourself.
This is the real thing. If you have trouble finding this brand/flavor at your local super market, you may consider buying here.

Antonea Payan : My absolute favorite tea
I LOVE this tea! It is by far my favorite of any other. Personally, i love the way it tastes all by itself. No honey or lemon needed. I haven't tried it iced because i am so hooked it on warm anyway!
I have been trying to drink more tea and was getting bored of the regualr green tea with lemon bit... So i picked up the assoprted Tazo tea pack and discovered this baby.
I pretty much ignored all the other flavors in the box!
This is a tea i could drink every day... If i didn't run out of it so quick!
Shopping mommy : One of my favorite teas! I love the tart taste and the ...
One of my favorite teas! I love the tart taste and the color is beautiful. I usually make 2-3 cups from each bag just because I don’t want to stop drinking it and I keep adding water. The taste stays strong for all 3 cups. I also like that it’s caffeine free!
Shellbie : Too sweet for these taste buds
Too sweet for my taste buds. I tasted a tea that was chamomile passion fruit. And I loved it. But it couldn't find another one like it so I bought passion flower to go with my chamomile. Too bad cuz I've got a big box of it.
Harry Kasanow : Purple Passion Delivered!
Yummy & great price to doorstep w no tax!
PC : Tantalizing & Refreshing
My first taste of TAZO Passion Herbal tea had me mentally saying, "Wow." The flavor tantalizing and refreshing; and maybe becaused I stopped a moment to enjoy the flavor the stress of another busy day melted away. Each time I have a cup of TAZO's Passion Herbal tea it is as great as the first time. If you enjoy tea, you should try this one.

O. Merce Brown : Fine Tea with Hibiscus Flowers
****
Tazo's Passion Herbal Infusion is a somewhat tart, deep, flavorful (hibiscus-y tasting) tea. It is not berry-like in taste, although it is red in color. It's difficult to describe what hibiscus tastes like, but I find it a most pleasant taste. My husband says it tastes like pomegranate to him. Although Passion contains licorice root it is not sweet.
The ingredients in Passion are: hibiscus flowers, natural tropical flavors, citric acid, orange peel, licorice root, cinnamon bark, rose hips, lemongrass and red poppy. It is caffeine-free!
Tazo is an interesting company that makes only super premium teas. They are socially responsible, based in Portland, and have the motto, "The Reincarnation of Tea". Tazo is owned by Starbucks. Their web site is fun and quirky, with a Zen-type focus, definitely worth checking out. It is unclear, though, from their web site, how many of their ingredients are organic or kosher, and they do use some "natural flavors" in their teas--this wording seems a little vague for a super premium tea.
On the paper tea packet, Tazo writes, "A tantalizing deep red tea made from hibiscus flowers, exotic herbs and natural tropical flavors." On their web site, Tazo describes the flavor profile of Passion as "berry, juicy, wine-like, merlot, sweet, earthy, dense". Tazo describes the aroma as "sweet, juicy, red fruits".
I would rate this tea, and Tazo in general, as very good---better than premium teas like Stash or Celestial Seasonings---but not as good as Numi. I'm soooooo spoiled by Numi teas, which is why Tazo Passion gets only four stars.

H. Johnsen : Try cold-brewing it!
To me this is overly strong (cloying and sweet), but I buy this tea for my workplace and many people really love it. In the summer, I cold-brew it by steeping a bag just for a few minutes in a normal-sized cup of cold water. It gives a substantial, but not overwhelming, amount of flavor this way, and is really refreshing.
Doug Hart : Tazo Passion Tea
We were introduced to the Passion Tea at Starbucks and love it. I love making it into iced Passion Tea and iced Passion Tea Lemonaide. It is so refreshing. Just add lemon juice and sweetener after the tea is made.

A Haynes : So good!
So, going through Starbucks one day, not wanting a coffee, I came across their "Passion Shaken Tea." I plunked down my money, and found the best drink I've had in a long time.
This tea has a flavor that I can't quite place, but don't care--it's so good that I'm actually giving up some of my soda addiction.
If you like fresh, tangy flavors, this tea is for you.
Amanda Moreno : Five Stars
So delicious!
Beth T. : Joy in a cup!
My niece Debbie, who works at Starbucks at Casino Windsor, introduced me to this and what a joy! The flavor is very full bodied and layered--quite tart though (I don't sweeten), so be warned. Not like anything else on the market that I've tasted before. One of those teas you want to curl up with in your easy chair under a quilt, a good book in hand--ah!
DDAVIS : LOVE this tea!!!
LOVE this tea!!!! Fast shipping.
ak_sundog : "Partially produced with genetic engineering" -- ??!!!
WTH? Photos of all of the side panels from the Tazo Passion tea box were included on the product sale page -- no mention of genetic engineering. But when I received the tea the panel was different (see attached pic). I steer clear of GMO's to the extent possible, so I will be returning this tea. Flavor wise it's decent, but there's no passion fruit or passion flower in the ingredients, so kind of a misnomer. At least they disclosed the GE under the ingredients list. I'm going back to Celestial Seasonings.
molly lang : favorite
Addicted! Absolutely love the tart flavor, smell and beautiful color of this tea.my new favorite.
DDAVIS : LOVE this tea!!!

Purrrfectcat : slightly tart bold herbal fantastic tasting iced tea
Normally I hate yucky flowery herbs like hibiscus and rosehips in my tea (such as Celestial Seasonings Tea) but one day while at Starbuck's, I was sweating, heated and tired in hot weather and wanted an iced drink but not coffee and since I'm really a tea drinker, I tried their Tazo iced teas and they tasted SOOOOO good and invigorating with just the purrrrfect balance of just enough herbs but still letting your senses know it was still TEA and the fragrance/taste comes out boldly!! The heated tea is nicely turned immediately, boldly, vividly, red in color. I don't need to add much sweetener even as it's tart but its tartness gives it more taste.
The only drawbacks are its high price (compared to other teas which is why I'm always waiting for a sale on them) and having to wait to heat the water and waiting to cool it down in the refrigerator (or quickly in the freezer). It's true as another reviewer said that it's very strong in taste after just leaving it in hot water for a few seconds so the longer you leave it in, the stronger and bitter or more tart it becomes and you could really be frugal and only need a tea bag for a half gallon to a gallon of water. Adding ice helps dilute the taste as well as cool the tea down fast and cold, but I like my iced tea strong so i can taste its full flavor, so I try never to add ice.
It's a delight as an everyday iced tea as well as a great gift for a friend.
