I love that spicy, peppery finish to my chai tea. Does this have that?

Answer: This chai has spicy notes but they are mellowed by the delicate flavor of the white tea and its honey flavor as well. It is one of my favorite chais but there are definitely spicier versions than this one.

Answer: The peppery finish is just right, not too strong. This tea has a full-bodied spicy taste.

Answer: I detect more cinnamon than pepper. But I find it to be more satisfying than the other brands I've tried. My favorite used to be Twining's but I like CS better now. I prefer it strong so in an 8-10 ounce cup, I use 2 bags. As with anything, it's really a personal choice. I recommend you try one box before buying a multi-pack.

I need to know when does it expires?

Answer: There is no expiration date on the package nor on the tea bags. The tea bags are fresh when you open them.

Answer: My most recent case says 15MAR18 - I don't know which number is the day or year. For myself, I don't care. Each bag is individually sealed in an airtight pouch. I dread the day it is sold out.

Answer: It isn't written or stamped on the dispenser box or the individual packets, however if you buy the tea by the case, containing 8 dispenser boxes, the expiration date is on the outside of the shipping box under 'Lot'.

Answer: The tea is every bit as fresh and tasty as previous. We've found inserting the teabags in small filter pouches prevents the contents of the bags from getting into the water. The filter pouches can be found in most Japanese stores or specialty tea shops. Extra step, but worth it.

Answer: Yes, that is because celestial seasonings discontinued it and some of their other chai teas. So you still get some at Amazon but at a markup and only until the seller runs out.

Answer: That happened to me once and Amazon had me just keep it and they reordered the decaf for me as well as gave me an extra month on my prime membership. I order the 6 box case rather often and have never had a problem since. This is the only tea I drink.

Answer: I have ordered the decaf on two different occasions and received the correct decaf tea. If your order isn't correct (and you've verified that you ordered decaf) you should let Amazon know, they should correct this error for you.

Answer: I am getting this in decaf -- but sometimes they send me caf. It helps if you order one six-pack box at a time. If you email them and tell them they made the mistake and sent you caf -- they will resend decaf. But then of course, you have to find a friend who wants the caf.

Answer: I feel the India Spice tastes much more like real Indian Chai. The honey vanilla has a sweeter taste, however I do add sugar to the India Spice. We just ate at an Indian restaurant over the weekend and they served Tetley Chai tea and it was delicious as well. Good luck!

I stumbled across this tea when traveling out of state and fell in love!! I returned home and tried to find it at my local grocery store with no luck. Of course good 'ole Amazon has it and on Subscribe & Save. Sign me up! (I hope I don't jinx myself here)

I like that the tea is decaf, which means I can drink it in the evening if needed and it uses Rooibos (South African red tea). The flavors are terrific and it smells great while stewing. There is no string attached to the tea bag but that doesn't bother me. It is a great way to end my day.....I think I'll go make myself a cup now.

I have been drinking this pretty much every evening for the past year. I had a hard time finding this flavor in my local stores, and I was delighted to find it at Amazon. Yes, it might be a bit more expensive this way, but it's worth it to me to have 6 shiny boxes lined up on my shelves, all ready for me to brew a cup. In a way it reminds me of an old flavor from Celestial Seasonings--Pelican Punch. I agree with the person who loves chai spice flavor but sometimes finds that to be a bit too dark. This decaf coconut thai is excellent! And in the daytime I love PG Tips, another black caffeinated tea that is available through Amazon.

This one however is a great exception to the rule. I've been drinking it for years but can no longer find it any stores near me so I was thrilled to find it in Amazon. This has become my bedtime cup. I love that it's decaf yet doesn't have that strange decaf flavor (the same one that coffee drinkers say decaf coffee has). It has a wonderful spicy/coconutty (yes, that is now a word :-P ) scent and the flavor matches the smell. There is no "bite" to this which some Chai blends can have. The spices are there but not all "in your face". The coconut flavor is mild but definitely present. My favorite way to drink this is with a splash (ok, a big splash) of Coffee Mate Coconut Creamer. It brings out the flavor and has the side benefit of bringing the tea down to immediate drinking temp lol. All in all, this is a very soothing, very comforting tea, great to wind down with at the end of the day.

When it comes to Chai tea, this Celestial Seasonings Chai Decaf Tea, Sweet Coconut Thai is my favorite. I really love the Indian and Thai fusion of flavors in this tea. A perfect combination I must say. I like the coconut taste in this tea, and when it comes to Thai-inspired at-home teas, this Celestial Seasonings Sweet Coconut Chai definitely tastes better than Yogi Tea's Sweet Thai Delight tea. It's also a bonus that this tea is decaffeinated, and as the other Amazon reviewers have said, this tea is definitely perfect for relaxation and before going to bed. If you like Thai-inspired teas such as this, I also suggest trying Harney and Sons' Bangkok Green Tea with Thai Flavors. It's an excellent, delicious fine tea with coconut, vanilla, ginger, and lemongrass. I also highly recommend The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf's Thai-picked Lemon Chamomile, Blueberry Peach Green Tea, and Spring Peach Oolong Teas. Another tea with some Thai influence is the Fairmont Hotels and Resorts' Organic Berry Berry Caffeine-Free tea. For cold Thai teas, I highly recommend Taste Nirvana's Real Thai Tea Latte and Real Green Tea Latte. My parents were born and raised in Thailand, and thus I'm Thai American. If you actually visit Thailand, which I have multiple times since the majority of my relatives live there, then I highly recommend trying Thai Chrysanthemum tea. I had the best tea I've ever had in my entire life in Thailand. And that's saying something because I've actually traveled up (sometimes my small traveling party and I had to walk a long and grueling hike for intervals of 30 minutes to a whole hour. Even actor Blair Underwood made a comment how he was amazed that even elderly Chinese women could climb up these mountains for long periods of time, and claimed they were in better shape than him! That's how I felt as well. If you visit China, you will see that a lot of Chinese are very physically fit - they walk, hike, bike a lot and do all sorts of exercises such as swimming and Tai Chi and fan exercises in their parks) the tea-growing terraced mountains in and around the Guilin region of China and tasted tea from those Chinese regions and also tasted some tea when I traveled to Japan, but those Asian teas don't compare to the Chrysanthemum tea I had many years back in northern Thailand. (I haven't traveled to England and India yet, but would love to. I bet the teas there are amazing. But like I said, from all the countries I've traveled to so far - Thailand has the best teas, cold and hot.) When I think about it, I was very young then, and I should have asked the Thai waitress where they got their tea from. All I know is that I drank that tea at a restaurant at a Thai hotel resort many years back in Northern Thailand not far from Chiang Rai and the Golden Triangle region. Anyways, I have given boxes of this Celestial Seasonings Sweet Coconut Thai Chai Decaf Tea as small gifts to friends in the past few years. The fact that you can order this in packs of six at an affordable price is great, and allows you the luxury to share some of this tea with friends and family. My verdict is that this is a nice aromatic, delicious tea to unwind for the day.

One of my favorite teas! Rich and sweet and fantastically decadent
I would recommend to try make it as an actual Chai Tea , that is the milk tea or the tea with some milk added into it.
That is how I do my Chai:
I heated up a mug of unsweetened vanilla almond/soya milk, froth it a bit, and then drop a tea bag in.
As with all herbal teas I like them better when sweetened, this one is no different. So I add a tiny bit of sweetener(I use agave)

This drink definitely satisfies my sweet tooth, and I recommend trying it like this to anyone, especially those who are unsatisfied with the tea's flavor when it's made with water. Great treat for a fraction of calories/

UPDATE: I actually did receive the correct DECAF tea this time around. Love this tea!! Honestly, i think it tastes better than the regular full-caff chai tea, but that's all a matter of personal taste.

Original Review: I ordered this DECAF chai tea, because I drink it before bed pretty much every night. However, I received the regular (full caffeine) chai tea, not the decaf. It still tastes good, but since it is not even what I ordered I could not give it a good review.
I did contact Amazon, as food items are not generally able to be returned - and they credited me the amount of the item, so I have already re-ordered. Really hoping to get the correct decaf version of the tea this time, or then I'll have 300 tea bags I can't use lol!

The white tea is more delicate in flavor than the black tea variety but the hint of honey really comes through. Yummy just on its own, or with a little extra honey. I was ecstatic not only find that Amazon sells Celestial Seasonings India Spice Chai Tea- the regular caffeinated version of which has become scarce in all stores I shop at, but that Amazon also has the decaffeinated version! I must say I've tried countless chai teas, organic, loose leaf, so many brands I lost track years ago- I"ve probably tried 15 plus. Surprisingly none have ever compared to the Celestial Seasonings India Spice Chai- not by a long shot; theirs is the perfect balance of black tea, cinnamon, cloves, ginger with slightly detectable star anise and nutmeg. I love how if you let your bag steep a bit longer you get a bit of peppery kick, not like you sprinkled black pepper in your tea mind you, but a bit of heat that just enhances the other spices. This tea is at it's sublime best with honey and whole milk. It tastes spectacular at iced tea too- I let it cool to room temp then pour over ice; pouring hot tea/ hot coffee over ice can produce a pungent, unpleasant taste. Being pregnant I am so thrilled to have my favorite tea available in a decaffeinated version. Amazon offered this in a 6 box pack (20 count bags per box) on the subscribe and save program and the price per box was the best I'd ever seen anywhere. I truly hope that this, and the original caffeinated version, are always available here on Amazon for such great prices. If you're looking for a well-balanced spice blend of true chai, look no further than Celestial Seasonings.

I've been on a search for a good individual tea bag chai, and this one is almost 5 star. In order to get maximum flavor, I brew for several hours, then add an almond/coconut milk creamer and sweetener. Not the best, but not bad. However, last time I went to re-order, the price had increased significantly, up to almost $7/box, which is ridiculous. On a more positive note, I also like that the tea bags are not individually "wrapped" in an outer package, which is a complete waste of paper and time.

This tea is delicious AND decaffeinated, which means I can drink it at midnight and it doesn't interfere with me getting to sleep. Great tea but the bags break often and I need to use a strainer to filter the leaves. The original tea before it was renamed and repackaged was terrific. Same great taste, just a disappointment in the packaging.

I love love love this tea and Celestial Seasonings has discontinued it! I've looked for a replacement decaf Chai with no luck -- everything else is overly sweet. This stuff is spicy and cinnamony and wonderful. I drink it straight without sugar or milk and it's a lovely warming, soothing end of day tea for me.

The delivery and taste are fine, however I am only into the first of 6 boxes and already I have had 5 broken bags. That is 20% which I feel is awfully high. You don't know until you add the water and then you have to dump it, rinse your glass and start over and of course there is the cost. Very annoying.

Frogfly : Use in My K-CUP!!

I typically buy the K-cups in this flavor. I love to make starbuck-like lattes by adding half and half and sugar. Amazon went up on the price of the K-cups, so I decided to give this a try by using the My K-cup that came with my machine. It works WONDERFULLY!! I place 2 teabags in the My k-cup filter and brew normally. It makes for easy clean-up since this is bagged! If I want my latte a bit stronger, I will take the tea bags out of the filter after brewing and let them steep in my cup a little longer. So, now I figured out a way to get 60 K-cups (2 bags at a time) for just over 13 dollars (subscribe and save). LOVE IT!!

I love this tea, it is so good, I bought this tea go give some to my mother, because I gave her a k-cup version and she loved it, now when i gave company I give them a cup of Chai Tea and so far everyone loves it, and when a neighbor had a cold i gave her some to boil and she said it made her throat feel better and asked for more and wanted to know where i found it at. I highly recommend this tea

UPDATE: I actually did receive the correct DECAF tea this time around. Love this tea!! Honestly, i think it tastes better than the regular full-caff chai tea, but that's all a matter of personal taste.

Original Review: I ordered this DECAF chai tea, because I drink it before bed pretty much every night. However, I received the regular (full caffeine) chai tea, not the decaf. It still tastes good, but since it is not even what I ordered I could not give it a good review.
I did contact Amazon, as food items are not generally able to be returned - and they credited me the amount of the item, so I have already re-ordered. Really hoping to get the correct decaf version of the tea this time, or then I'll have 300 tea bags I can't use lol!
If I receive the correct item on this round, I will update this review!

They had a very nice chai flavor, but a bit on the mellow side. I do lean toward a strong tea. But the amount in the bag was decent and the price tag was good too.

If I left the bag in water long enough for the tea to steep a lot of the bags broke. I had to use two tea bags so it would be strong enough in half the time so the bag wouldn't break. What a mess! Very disappointed in these bags. Won't buy them again.

This too, is a very extraordinary tea! The fact, that it is decaf makes it even better, because I can drink it no matter how early or late in the day or evening it won't make me feel jittery! You can DEFINITELY taste the sweet coconut in this tea! I do recommend trying this & you decide!

Recycling Fun : wonderful tea

This is a very delicious tea and you can drink it when you don't need caffeine, or don't want Caffeine. this is a decaf for those who don't like herbal tea. I don't know why the price is so volatile it's gone from $13 to $33 now $20 for a pack of 6
Added 3/5/15 -- AFTER I bought this, found it at Target. May not last long there, but cheaper, and can use coupons at Target. Hope Target sells enough to keep it in stock.

Celestial Seasonings was the first brand of chai tea I tried. My local grocery store stopped carrying it, so I tried a couple of other brands, which I disliked. I am so glad that Amazon has it so I can keep stocked up.

I like it hot and I also like it iced blended with green tea. I use a ratio of one chai tea bag to three green tea bags for the iced tea that my husband and I like.

My favorite tea. I had to give up coffee several years ago, so needed a morning substitute. A big mug of this tea with some raw honey and almond milk, and I'm good to go. Sometimes add a little vanilla or almond extract for a change. Also like that this brand uses no tags, strings, or staples in their bags. Every little bit helps to conserve resources and keep some trash out of the landfills.

Good Self : Don't Leave Me Without This Tea, Celestial Seasonings!

I love love love this tea and Celestial Seasonings has discontinued it! I've looked for a replacement decaf Chai with no luck -- everything else is overly sweet. This stuff is spicy and cinnamony and wonderful. I drink it straight without sugar or milk and it's a lovely warming, soothing end of day tea for me.

My family really likes this. I purchased it for the coconut flavor. I can't really distinguish it in the flavor. It's still a good tea. But if you are looking for that special coconut flavor you might be dissapointed. It is a smooth flavor though. It is hard to find in our area so I bought the case.

I was trying to replace gypsy coconut chai, because I can't get it on Amazon anymore. Surfed the web and it appears that ghpsy tea folks have deleted their website and discontinued phone service, and have probably gone out of business. The gypsy coconut chai was my favorite, so I am trying to find a substitute. The Celestial Seasonings, Decaf Sweet Coconut Thai has an intense spice flavor, compared to my gypsy's mild ginger and coconut variety which was very relaxing. This Celestial Seasonings brand is good if you are into the stronger flavors.

The description is not 100% correct. The teabags inside the box are decaffeinated even though it was not described as decaf. If you were hoping for regular caffeine, you’ll be disappointed.

Betty Boop : Heaven in a cup!

New Year's resolutions often include the hope to lose weight. Substituting this tea for late night snacking is one way to feel you are drinking a decadent cup of forbidden froth, while really sipping on very few calories. OK, I use half and half, which DOES add some calories - but it also adds the froth!! A little stevia powder(try the NOW brand - no additives, totally pure) to sweeten, and who needs brownies? One caveat - if you are very sensitive to caffeine, you may want to test your evening tolerance for this tea.

They ruined the tea! I've been using this product for years and loved it but the new packaging is a waste. Not only that, the new bag design has ruined many pitchers of tea because the bags leak or just plain break apart. I'm searching for a different brand and then I'll be done with Celestial Seasonings!
