Questions about Bewley's Dublin Morning Tea, 80-Count
Q:
is this 'punch you awake' strong or 'meh' cause i'm looking for the first one? which is stronger breakfast or morning tea by brewley's?
Answer: Bewley's Irish breakfast tea is a lot more strong than Bewley's Dublin Morning is. Bewley's Irish breakfast has lots of Assam in it, and some Darjeeling as well. Dublin morning has Rwandan and Kenyan teas in it. My friends who are Indian/Desi/South-Asian prefer Bewley's Irish breakfast since it is a lot more strong than any other tea by Bewley's I have given them samples of. Bewley's Dublin morning is not weak, it makes a great afternoon tea.
Answer: I am not sure if the caffeine content is different, but the Dublin morning tea is definitely the stronger tea.
Answer: Dublin Morning Tea is stronger
Q:
Are these the square or the round tea bags? I'm definitely looking for the square bags. Thanks!
Answer: These are square bags. Bewley's teas are some of the finest that you will ever taste. I like the Dublin Morning over the Iris Breakfast. If you want an afternoon pick me up, try their Afternoon tea. I used to live outside of Belfast and would drive the 140 miles down to Dublin just to go to Bewley's for their tea and coffee.
Answer: Quite large rectangular bags, with no string. They make more than your standard cup of tea. 2 tea bags makes a whole pot.
Answer: More of a rectangle but not round. I love this tea. I have 2 boxes shipped every month. I for hot tea and one for iced tea. You won't be sorry ordering Bewley's.
Answer: These are square bags with no string attached.
Answer: These are the square bags. Hope this helps you!
Answer: Square
Answer: Square
Q:
Why has the price for this product jumped from $8.79 to $18.71? That is a huge hike in price.
Answer: The price for Bewley's teas, and other brands of teas change on amazon a lot. A lot of shippers on Amazon ship from the UK or Ireland, to North America so that may be why the price increased? I usually just buy Bewley's tea at a local supermarket since it is a lot less expensive and I pay only $6.99-$7.99 for a box of it. See if your local supermarket can order some Bewley's tea or check e bay.
Q:
What is the difference between bewley's irish breakfast tea and their dublin morning tea, which countries' teas are in both of these breakfast teas?
Answer: Bewley's Irish breakfast tea is an invigorating blend of high-grown Assam and Darjeeling teas. Harvested in India. Bewley's Dublin morning tea is an invigorating blend of African teas leaves
Answer: I found the Irish Breakfast is a bit stronger than the Dublin Morning. Both are excellent teas! I don't understand what you mean by 'which countries teas are in them'.
Answer: I don't remember which is which. Buy them both. The second part of this question does not make sense.
Q:
Which types of tea are in this blend?
Answer: I do not know. I just know that I found this tea when visiting Ireland and now cannot do without it. Bewley blends many different teas and I love the Morning Tea and its strong robust flavor. One bag will make a strong pot of tea. It is excellent. You can also check out Bewleytea.com
Answer: A black tea, not sure what else. My daughter and husband are the tea drinkers. Beweleys is by far their favorite.
Answer: Everything in this line is very good. My favorite is the Gold which has carmel tones to it and then I like Irish breakfast and Dublin morning, those 3 I rotate thru everyday... but I have the whole line. I am done trying other teas, will only by Bewley's now.
Answer: Not sure but think its kenyan, rhodesian, and ceylonese, maybe some assam. Good strong robust tea. Not subtle.
Q:
What are the differences between bewley's dublin morning, and bewley's irish breakfast tea, is one more strong than the other?
Q:
How does this compare with pg tips extra strong?
Answer: This is the strongest tea I could find without the bitterness. I like the flavor of Bewley's better than PG Tips.
Answer: Not as strong as PQ Tips, but I preferred the Bewley's.
Answer: I actually gifted my tea to someone, so I have no answer
Answer: No idea. For this price, just buy it.
Q:
Do these tea bags have plastic in them? I've been seeing everywhere that tea bags have micro-plastic fibers.
Answer: I am guessing here but I believe I read that the ones with the microplastic are the bags that themselves are plastic. These bags are paper so I doubt there is plastic. But I do not know for sure.
Answer: Very good question, but I don’t have an answer
Q:
Is it possible to describe the difference between dublin morning tea and irish breakfast tea?
Answer: From what I read, I found that Irish tea is considered the stronger tea, being described as full-bodied and spicy.
Answer: I personally can't find any difference. Both are strong, full-bodied, refreshing teas, similar to, but better tasting than, English breakfast teas.
Answer: for me this tea is stronger, but that is just me.
Q:
How many cups in a square foot of tea?
Answer: One bag could make a strong delicious pot of tea. Approximately 2-3 cups depending on how strong would you like your tea.
Answer: The volume in cubic feet is equal to the cups multiplied by 0.008355.
Answer: That has GOT to be the stupidest question I have ever seen One teabag makes a full pot of tea.
Answer: I think this is a question for Google search or "Ask Alexa." I never saw a tea bag that big.
Q:
There are a couple of conflicting answers here. Are these teabags round or square?
Answer: I think they're square--at least the decaf ones are.
Answer: They are square
Answer: They are square
Answer: Mine are square.
Answer: They are square and come two attached to each other. I buy this tea a lot and it’s wonderful
Answer: The ones I used were square.
Answer: Square
Answer: square
Answer: Quite large rectangular bags, with no string. They make more than your standard cup of tea. 2 tea bags makes a whole pot
Answer: Rectangular
Q:
How do I stop the the automatic order of Bruleys tea?
Answer: If your going thru Amazon, pull up the other and cancel it. You can also contact the comt from that site as well.
Q:
I do not want two boxes of brewley's tea automatically delivered to me every two months! how can this order be stopped/canceled?
Answer: Simply go on Amazon and change your existing order
Q:
How is the bewley's dublin breakfast tea different than the bewley's irish breakfast tea?
Answer: I find the Dublin Breakfast tea to be more robust than the Irish Breakfast tea and makes an exceptional iced tea in the summer time.
Answer: the taste is stronger than the irish breakfast tea. the robust flavor is potent.
Answer: its been awhile that I drank the teas. but, I gave away to friends the bulk of my teas. the one I kept was Bewleys Dublin Morning Tea. My reason is this tea I would
Answer: It has a great brisk taste it gets me going in the morning I just love it
Q:
Why is the tea (multipacks, not the single box) sold by the square foot?
Q:
Is this decaf
Answer: Absolutely not
Answer: No, strong and delish!
Q:
Has the packaging changed?
Answer: The packaging is the same as in Ireland.
Q:
are the bags individually wrapped?
Answer: tea bags are wrapped in cellophane as a group, not individually. Two bags are connected, with perforation so you can split them. I prefer it that way because I make pots of tea and find it tedious to have to unwrap each bag. I throw in 6 bags (3 2-bag sets) in a pot to make it strong, the way I like it.
Answer: There were 80 individual bags in the box. Each bag was not in a separate sealed envelope. It is possible to order Brewleys as "loose tea" as well.
Answer: Yes, the bags are individually wrapped.
Answer: No they are not. You get your full weight of tea and it is wonderful brisk tea. The ones I got were not joined together. They were round, no tag,no bag. I bought Brewley's Dublin Morning.
Answer: No, they are not wrapped. They come in pairs that you have to pull apart.
Answer: no they are not, but they seem to stay fresh in the box. I remove smaller quantities and store them in my Belleek tea chest for everyday use and haven't had any problem with freshness, taste or quality. Also each box has a best by date that ensures freshness.
Answer: Yes, those I ordered were ... it should be in the description ... Love Bewley's Enjoy!
Answer: Yes
Q:
Is this tea individually wrapped? To give in gift bags.
Answer: The tea bags are stacked in the box, but they have no individual wrapping, packaging, or labeling. The tea is great, but individual teabags in gift bags would not be so nice.
Answer: Wanda, I LOVE this tea, but it's not individually wrapped. They are in 'gauze' type tea bags with two attached together. They are perforated and you easily pull them apart, but not great for a gift bag. Try individually wrapped Twinings.
Answer: There are 80 tea bags inside the cellophane wrapped box. Amazon has a cute metal tin with 30 bags inside that I purchased and now use in kitchen. It would make a nice gift for someone who loves Irish tea.
Answer: No. What I did was buy medium sized aluminum containers w/lids. I had purchased five different kinds of tea and I put them in zip lock bags and labeled them.
Answer: The tea comes in boxes with 80 bags that like most Irish teas do not have strings attached. They are not individually wrapped.
Answer: No the bags are not individually wrapped.
Answer: No. It is not, but I buy little draw string bags at a craft store, like Michaels should I want to give a sample to a friend. I have also saved little jelly jars, wrapped the lid with a ribbon and given samples that way. I would suggest, for yourself, to keep them in an air tight container, not in the box. Air, light and heat does affect tea. Hope this helps. If you have any other questions, feel free to write.
Answer: They're tagless bags
Product reviews of Bewley's Dublin Morning Tea, 80-Count
LoryB : Bewley's Tea ... not quite as good as being in Dublin but good for the memory
I love Bewley's tea ... always a reminder of spending time with my Mom in Dublin ... She's gone now but I can sit down
with a cup of delicious Bewley's tea and remember having lunch in Bewley's ...Fresh tasting ...
Robert K Anderson : FATHER LOVES IT
My father is a tea junkie. He loves this stuff, and he can be particular (even picky)!
Scott : Pretty good
Nothing really wrong with this tea, just not as attuned to my palate as the Irish breakfast from bewleys- still, I am glad I tried it, and it is fresh.
Kindle Customer : fantastic full bodied tea
I've been doing taste tests on different black pekoe teas, some from the grocery store like red rose, tetley, luzianne, a few of those are decent, some you need 2 bags for an 8 ounce cup! Now, Bewleys Dublin Morning is one of my very favorite, I heat up the pot first, then use 2 bags for 16 ounces water, steep 5 min, add some sugar, little cream and WOW- just AWESOME tea, not bitter like Lipton or Nestea can be. The taste is SMOOTH and I get a nice rich tea flavor right through my cream and sugar. I like using pet milk, aka, evaporated milk in my coffee and can get a little 5 ounce can for 80 cents, lasts me all week, and I usually buy quite a few so when I run out, I don't have to get in the car, I just go to the cupboard and open another can-YEAH!
I found the cutest little white porcelain, 8 ounce milk bottle at our Meijers, even has a soft rubber lid, I put the PET milk in there for the tea, keeps it fresh and doesn't pick up odors. I also ordered Bewleys Irish Afternoon tea which I have yet to try, can't wait to be blown away again. I guess my interest in Irish teas was sparked by my daughters recent trip to Ireland and England and she brought me home a box of Irish Breakfast Tea! by Irish Clipper Tea Co. it also is an amazing strong, full bodied tea, only it is, like the Bewleys, caffeinated, and once I hit 50 yrs old, found I can only drink decaf after 5pm or I'm up all night. I find it is definately easier to find a good tea if it's caffeinated, so many of the decaf are wimpy, you have to think, am I tasing tea? or just the cream/sugar? I'm so thankful for Amazon and all the teas they offer, I will be ordering more of this tea, and others, and the customer input is also very important and I appreciate everyone who has spent the time to help others make an informed decision. So enjoy your morning CUPPA, relax, and all is well with you and the world......
A_Female_Brain : A good strong cup of tea
Very strong British style tea. Bags are maybe a little bit too big or too full for my small teapot. One bag could make a strong big pot of tea. But tea is delicious.
Sic Semper Tyrannis : My favorite of my favorite teas
Our family drinks a LOT of tea. Not just a lot, but a lot of different kinds - we are the types who have a different preparation for different greens.
I have lots of favorites, but this is the tea that makes the best "proper cup" - brewed strong, 5 bags to the pot, in a preheated teapot, allowed to steep 3-4 minutes, bags removed after that to prevent it getting overly bitter, and served with NO SWEETENER and just enough half-and-half to make it an amber color... lighter than rust, but darker than beige.
Barry's doesn't compare. PG Tips is good, and close to this, but Bewleys... it has this property to the taste that I can only describe as "chewy", but that sounds weird. It's bitter, but not overly bitter like Barry's, but with half-and-half it's like it's more substantial than it is. Fulfilling. Bracing. Like you're taking more sustenance than it gives you.
In conclusion, this tea is the reason why Amazon rules the world now. It has less to do with 2-day delivery, and much, much more to do with the fact that a sublime tea that the local grocer carried for two weeks in 2012 and hasn't had since, is available here all the time. Buy some.
capitalcityguy : Excellent strong morning blend
I guess this is my favourite of all the blends from Bewley's and it is a very strong tea. If your a fan of Lipton or Tetley this is probably not going to work for you.
Mary B : I love this tea
I love this tea! I use it for both hot and iced. It is bold and black and has become my favorite!
BriBoz : flavorful, strong tea
This is simply the best flavor strong Irish tea. I love it and it is the only tea I drink.
K.C.558 : A strong tea for tea lovers.
I like a tea that has strong taste. Not something weak that you get at most American grocery stores. Large bags means more taste. Only downfall is the no string thing which seems to be an American thing. But the taste makes you soon forget that. Have bought several boxes of this particular tea and will buy more in the future.
Tracey V. : Not as strong as I’d like
I love black tea and I always buy the Irish breakfast tea (green pkg). I like the Irish breakfast better, it seems a bit stronger. I bought this because some of the reviews said that this tea was stronger. I didn’t find that to be the case. This is a good tea anyhow.
Mary A. Caldwell : Tasty tea
Delicious tea for anytime during the day.
Tess : Good tea
I like this tea. Will buy again.
Over 50 : 80 Count Box, Excellent Breakfast Tea
I hope Amazon changes the heading from 30 to 80 count; this price for 30 count would be ridiculous.
My doctor directed switching from coffee to tea. He is no longer my physician but I began with Twinnings Irish and English breakfast teas; finally, I found Bewley's. My breakfast tea style emerged into drinking one batch of 2 bags of Irish breakfast tea, for its strength, followed by using one bag of English breakfast tea an hour later. Today I use Dublin morning tea-bags, 2 then 1 of course. It falls in between these two breakfast tea types, slightly milder than Irish but perceptibly stronger than English...and still smooth.
The physician made an erroneous assumption about my coffee habit. I had only been drinking 6 ounces every morning, for years; occasionally decaf cappuccino after dinner. He probably would have not recommended the switch to tea. I am happy to have found a strong excellent tea, and have been on Bewley's for a year. It is smoother and stronger than Twinnings, in my opinion, and about the same price. A winner all around.
If you drink your coffee as espresso, cappuccino, or french press, you will appreciate this strong smooth tea.
Rochelle in Montana : My favorite tea.
Not only is this an exceptional hot beverage but it has become the only tea my family will drink iced. Since finding this robust tea all others fall short for flavor and aroma. I drink my tea unsweetened so I am able to appreciate the full body of both taste & fragrance. I always buy two boxes at a time not wanting to run out between deliveries. I have even gone so far as to keep a stash in my purse for travel.
Charles O'connor : strong
Gave to a very experienced tea drinker as gift. She likes it and mentioned it was a strong tea.
Systlin : Happiness in a cup
I've never been a fan of coffee. Like the smell, not the taste. Tea, on the other hand, I adore.
And this is the best. Period, full stop. Oh, I enjoy my fancy loose leaf teas as much as the next girl. But every morning, it's Bewley's that I come back to to help me remember how to be alive again. Bless Amazon for carrying it.
C. Phelps : Dublin morning tea
I have been drinking this bold Irish tea for years and it always satisfies. I like a tea with full flavor and every cup delivers. I keep it in both my kitchen tea caddy and my work cubby. A cup at lunch keeps the mid-afternoon drowsy away.
Alethea B : Three Stars
Very very strong. Bought again for British friend
Michele T : I love this tea
I love this tea! Was drinking the Yorkshire Gold and still love that but this one as a really smooth flavor...
Systlin : Happiness in a cup

Maum : Best Cuppa Tea Ever
I thought I was back in Ireland drinking tea out of Belleek china and eating scones with clotted cream and lemon curd. That's the memory this tea experience provided. Bewley Teas are the best thing to happen to tea. I have a bunch of boxes of Lipton tea and I can hardly bring myself to drink it any more. I also like that Bewley tea doesn't have a string attached to the tea bag nor is the tea bag wrapped in paper - no extra wastes to recycle.
M. Albrecht : Smooth flavor
Smooth medium flavor with no aftertaste. You can steep the tea for a long time and still not get that sharp, tannin aftertaste from tea. Works for hot tea as well and in an ice tea maker.
R Gabriel : Recommended for tea lovers!
OK, I admit, I'm a coffee drinker, but my wife LOVES this Bewley's brand tea. She's in her 50s, so she's seen a lot of tea in her days (especially since she used to get a lot from her cousin, who developed flavors for B*g*l*w). She recently discovered this tea, & raves about it often. She's one who can't breathe in the morning before her tea, so I'd take her word for it. She likes a few of the flavors.

Wee Betta Fish : Strong full bloodied black tea. Perfect with milk and sugar.
I love English tea. This tea is black and full bodied, with a hint of 'roasted' scent (not in a bad way). It's perfect with milk and sugar. I wouldn't drink this without. The fragrance is lovely. I normally drink Barrys but after a trip to Dublin, I started drinking Bewleys as well. You can never go back to the other bands afterwards. It's really best in a mug, steep for 3-4 mins (covered), and then splash of milk and 1 teaspoon of sugar. Pair this with shortbread and it's heaven!
AmazonCat843 : Irish approved!
I'm Irish and was raised on this tea so I love it! It's strong enough to give you a good caffeine buzz without the jitteriness or stomach aches that coffee can cause. It tastes great with milk but I drink it plain too since milk isn't convenient for me at work. I drink this every afternoon for a "pick me up" and it gives me a great boost without the insomnia of coffee or energy drinks. Bewley's is a strong tasting Irish black tea so if that is not your thing, you probably wouldn't like this.
Abedul Gul : strong tea
somewhat different flavor of a black tea...very refreshing
B B : Back in Ireland
Mom loves this tea, it had been 50 years since she had last had a cup. She mentioned it was strong without a bitter bite - a must have with Walker's shortbread!
fourpaws18 : I love this brand of tea
I love this brand of tea. Dublin Morning Tea is fully leaded and is my go to tea when i need that jolt to wake up in the morning. it has replaced my coffee.
Eusebius : Hearty and smooth
Bewley's is a very hearty, smooth tea with no bitter aftertaste even when the teabag is left too long in the cup. Nice flavor even without sugar, milk, or lemon.
I love this tea - it is second on my list (after PG Tips, of course) but there's nothing like a cuppa Bewley's in the morning. I am a big-time coffee drinker and after too many cups of coffee an occasional Bewley's really tastes good. For variety I'll switch with PG Tips in the afternoon and drink Bewley's black.
On a recent trip to Dublin we made a number of visits to a Bewley's tea room and the tea tasted the same as this so these teabags are the real deal.

J. P. : Live my Irish tea!
I have been a 'tea snob' for years... CANNOT drink Liptons- too cheap and weak... If you like full- bodied black teas, try Irish tea... This blend is good anytime of day!! Great price too!!!!
Barb : Really topping tea!
This is one of the best teas I've ever tasted! Granted, my palate is an untrained one, but I do know what I like, and this is a delicious black tea with no hint of bitterness and no bite. It's wonderfully smooth and fulfillling.
S. Tucker : My Morning Staple
I couldn't do without this in the mornings. It packs the same punch as does coffee, but is more gentle on the stomach. Always quickly delivered. Thanks for a great product.
M.J. Sumner : This is a great AM tea
Great tea, very flavorful, especially with milk.
Char : Bewley's (and Barry's too) are my favorites.
This blend was my first experience drinking Bewley's tea. I found that I liked it very much. Loved it,that is. There was one cup of it that I felt was probably the best tea I'd EVER tasted, but I've never been able to duplicate the flavor of that one cup! --Have found that my tea is best if I make it in a pot instead of a cup and carefully follow basic classic good tea-making instructions, i.e., pour boiling water in the pot to prepare it beforehand, then when tea-water is boiling, pour out the hot water from the teapot, put in tea-bags (1 to each 8 ounces of water), pour in the boiling tea-water, place the lid, let steep 4 or 5 minutes. It seems that Tea made in a pot comes out mellower, less harsh-tasting than in a cup. Still, I keep getting different flavor results with each different pot of tea I make. Very mysterious problem. Maybe I need to time the process precisely with each cup or batch and note down the results of each different timing, then see if the timing produces a consistent result every time.
(I used to flavor my tea with honey, but now I prefer Xylitol sugar substitute which is mild but satisfying, has less calories, and possibly is healthier.)
I also love Barry's Tea. Both Bewley's and Barry's are my super-favorites. (Not available in my grocery so am happy that I can order both brands through Amazon and can get super-saver no-shipping-fee.)
BriBoz : flavorful, strong tea
This is simply the best flavor strong Irish tea. I love it and it is the only tea I drink.
Kindle Customer : Great tea taste
I love this tea! Had it in Ireland and just had to find it here. It has a robust flavor that is so much better than most teas we find in America. I love it with milk, like the Irish do. So glad to find it!
Eli Auslender : Transports you to another world and time
I recently traveled to Ireland for a brief holiday that became much more than I bargained for.
While visiting a small castle in County Cork, a strange whisper called me to a secret passage in the castle that had been long neglected, as evidenced by the cobwebs and skeletons of soldiers set to guard the entrance. It was a dark, cavernous thing, though strange flickering fireflies lit my way as I descended far down, further down than I believed the castle had been built, until I reached a door of solid gold and silver, decorated with snakes running through and around the frame.
When I touched the door, an odd thing happened: there was a flash of light, so blinding that I lost consciousness. I woke up in the middle of a field, still in Ireland, and yet, there were differences. For instance, I was in the middle of a battlefield where soldiers were clashing with shields and swords, yelling things in Shakespearean English (HAVE AT THEE, KNAVE!) at each other, and generally being a nuisance to the grass maintenance. It took a while to realize that I had, indeed, time traveled.
Long story short, I helped the Irish to some decisive victories before being thrown back to my own time. A princess served me some great tea while I was there, and I may be my own great-great-great-great-great grandfather.
Tod Young : All the 5 star ratings you see are right
They caught me eye so I added Dublin Morning to my standard Taylor's of Harrogate Yorkshire Gold order to try something new. It cost more than 2x as much. After two mugs I was sold. It's subtler and deeper than Y G or any of the other Yorkshires. Ditto for any of the other Bewley's, Barry's - or really any tea I have tried. Just a pure delight. Balanced, hearty without landing too hard. Right degree of bitterness. Can't say I like the price but it won't stop me re-ordering.
AnnaK : Great Flavor
I've spent a lot of time in Ireland and this tea brings me back. It has excellent flavor! Happy my Dad found it :)
Kindle Customer : Great tea taste

bridget millnamow : Bewley Dublin Morning Tea
I have been drinking Bewley teas since I came back from Ireland in 2011. I actually ordered from Bewley's direct when I arrived home. Shipping was expensive. All the blends are good. It's hard to drink Tetly now and forget Lipton. If you can can get free shipping or flat rate shipping the teas are worth the price. I highly recommend this product.
Deborah E. Emerson : Great full bodied tea
Wonderful tea and full - bodied.... so different from " American" tea.... I normally drink tea black but I do add a little bit of sugar to this.

John K. : happy
great tea
A_Female_Brain : A good strong cup of tea
Very strong British style tea. Bags are maybe a little bit too big or too full for my small teapot. One bag could make a strong big pot of tea. But tea is delicious.
