Is this green tea grown in Japan?

Answer: Yes, this tea's country of origin is Japan. It is packed in the United States.

Answer: Good question. I had assumed perhaps incorrectly that being "Japanese Green" that it was. However, checking the information on the box I can find no indication of the country of origin of this product but lots of fluff such as emphasizing organic and free trade. So my conclusion is that it's likely not a product of Japanese origin or it would say so. I would suspect this is "Made in China" so that they don't want to publish the fact which would likely turn some people off.

Are these teabags bleached or unbleached?

Answer: From the Brand's website:

Answer: On an older box of their tea they say “We use oxygen bleached natural fiber tea bags”, but the most recent box I received, with the newly designed box, doesn’t say anything about their tea bags. Sorry to not be more help.

Answer: Called Gaia, the teabags are made from chlorine free pulp. There is no chlorine in the manufacturing process.

Answer: Tea with nothing else added has a negligible amount of calories. Generally speaking, it can contain between 0 to 2 calories per cup.

Answer: I believe there are no calories in a cup of tea, as long as there's no sugar or fruit added, and this one is pure tea.

Answer: I can find no place where this green tea has calories. Found a Safeway site that showed a calorie line and no amount shown. The box, itself, shows the only ingredient is organic green tea.
