Questions about 10 Blooming Flower Tea - 5 Jasmine and 5 Green
Q:
Are the flowers a natural flower? Are they eatable or is it strictly a decoration?
Answer: Jasmine blooms are made of natural plants and flowers. The tips of jasmine, green part, are hand bundled and held together with thread. Then the white jasmine flowers are threaded and stuffed within the bundled tips. Often additional flowers, red, yellow, etc. are then added for flavor accents and visual appeal. While everything but the thread grows in nature, the tea bulbs are hand crafted. You can use them for decoration or In a potpourri recipe as well as brewing tea.
Answer: This tea was the nastiest tea I have ever had the misfortune to drink! I can't imagine eating the flowers!
Q:
Has anyone ever tried the flowers with hot tap water? I want to use one in an object lesson with children
Answer: Hello! I used these with boiling water. It took several minutes to open and steep. I have not tried these with tap water -- hot or not. The balls are not tightly tied. They loosened up quickly when soaked in over 100 degree water. They would most likely open up with hot tap water too but the question is how long will it take.
Q:
Are these organic?
Answer: Hi "J"! Thanks for your inquiry about our Summit Tea 10 Blooming Flower Tea. We buy our loose leaf premium teas direct from Asia.
Q:
about how tall do they get to be when unfurling is complete?
Answer: They flower out and the tea is so good
Q:
how much tea does 1 tea "ball" make? Can it be used as iced tea also? how long can you keep the tea, & and are the tea balls for a cup or pot?
Answer: I use a qt. pitcher for HOT ...and when I make ice tea, I use a 1/2 gal pitcher filled with ice then pour the tea from the qt. into it ...after It's steeped... 5min with a plate over the top .... ...The tea balls are for a pot....(qt. one per.)keeping the tea I put it in a zip lock in the fridge ....any more question's I'll be happy to answer.. .."MO"
Answer: I use one ball for three cup-sized glass pots, and I guess you can use it once for a big pot. You can chill the tea but make sure to take out the flower (leaving it there will make the tea bitter) - perhaps you can keep the flower separately and add it later for presentation (careful though, it is quite gentle once open)
Answer: I would use a tea ball in a French press to make tea. It's enough to make a pot of tea. If you want it iced you'll need to make the hot tea first and then I would recommend putting it in the fridge to chill or adding ice, but you'll lose some flavor if you just pour it straight over ice. If you take the tea ball out after brewing the tea you can keep the tea in the fridge for a few days. These are definitely for a pot, not a cup. When they bloom they are about the size of a fist.
Q:
can I bloom these in a large glass drinking bottle or electric kettle
Answer: I found these blooms to be sensitive, so boiling water inside of an Electric Kettle wouldn't be the best. I set mine in a clear glass teapot and poured the hot water over the bloom. That is how it slowly opened.
Answer: Yes, you can. We use a large clear glass tea pot in which I pour the water from my kettle over the bloom inside. Restaurants often serve the same bloom in a two or three cup clear glass pot. I keep a single bloom for three to four pots of tea. Each morning I add boiling water to the glass pot. As long as my bloom remains submerged it lasts for up to five pots/days before becoming too weak to enjoy.
Answer: It works best of you have a clear teapot or mug and have a filter on top and steep it. I would not recommend an electric kettle except to boil the water you steep the blooming flower with. I live the strong flavors of this, and in a clear teapot you can easily use one for 3 twelve ounce cups of tea. Enjoy!
Answer: The beauty of the bloom is best viewed through a glass teapot and removed when it has reached the strength you want. You can re-use the bloom several more times. As some of the leaves will come away from the bloom, it is a good idea to use a tea strainer.
Q:
Do they have a problem sinking?
Answer: Well ? Do you mean do they just float or do they just sink ? Ah.. Well they added a nice tough for Christmas dinner last year. You have to be careful with alk blooming tea flowers tho. 1) make sure they are the right side up or down. Slowly pour water on top of flower. I also put a spoon to side of flower so close will not flip over. As water goes gently over top the flower opens up . take spoon away and flower floats to center of pot beautiful and wonderful cup of tea!
Q:
Is there caffeine?
Q:
How does jasmine taste
Answer: We use these blooming flower tea balls for special occasions in a clear glass tea pot. They have a mild Jasmine taste, as proper jasmine tea should. The blooms are beautiful, as is the fragrance. We use the tea ball twice, once when it blooms and then save the flower for the next day. Also, the price is very good for this particular brand. We've priced them elsewhere. Hope this helps.
Answer: These were a gift to my sister. I personally don't know how the tea tastes. She likes it.
Q:
Non- gmo or organic?
Answer: I just bought this product a few months ago. Neither is mentioned anywhere on the package. I think all blooming tea is grown or at least tied in mainland China, so I doubt it. I Would be interested on knowing what the seller would respond.
Answer: that is the silliest question. both.
Q:
Are the balls individually wrapped?
Answer: The balls in my order were not individually wrapped. They came in 2 packages of 5, in small zip locked baggies. Each bag contained one type of flowering tea ball. So I received 5 of one kind and 5 of another.
Answer: Yes they are individually wrapped
Answer: No, they are all in a small bag together. However, dispite being free floating in a small bag there was no damage to any of them.
Answer: No they are not, they come in a single plastic baggy.
Q:
The package says “carnation” flowers but all i can smell is lillie’s and orchids. could this tea be made with orchids or lilles instead of carnations?
Q:
any expiry date
Answer:
Answer:
Answer: My packet doesn't have an expiry date. We've had the packet for probably a year and just enjoyed using one of the tea balls a day or so ago. The blooming flowers were beautiful and the tea was excellent. This is one of the best brands we've come across.
Answer: All teas lose potency and flavor over time. 2 for 2 rule, dried tea leaves generally last two years in a air sealed package or two weeks in air. No date is needed, however, I would recommend you purchase individually wrapped bulbs unless you drink fresh tea daily as my family does.
Answer: There is no date on the package but I wouldn't use it past 1 year.
Q:
Is there any kind of weight one can attach to the bottom of one of these so they bloom as shown rather than floating to the top and staying there?
Answer: Thanks for your inquiry. You can use a chopstick (which we find won't damage the flower like a fork or knife may) to position it down until it gets saturated with hot water and gets heavy. Or try placing the Blooming tea inside your vessel first, then slowly add hot water part way, wait a minute then add the rest of the hot water. Hope that helps. :)
Product reviews of 10 Blooming Flower Tea - 5 Jasmine and 5 Green
Kevin P. Duke : Five Stars
Great for my Ladie's Tea!
WANDA : Four Stars
GOOD
spinnern : Odor of product
The oder of the product and/or packaging was chemical in nature rather than tea. I thought it might have been the plastic bag it was in but after brewing, the tea had a chemical or cleaning fluid taste.
Warbat : Four Stars
visual effects is awesome, taste is just ok
Chanster : Not tasty! Not Pretty!
For $10.99, I thought I could take the risk. The taste goes from bland to bitter. I tried one with a small pink leaf peeking on the top of the ball. When put in the hot water, it floated around the entire time it steeped and eventually sort off sank to the middle of the small tea pot. It had a pitiful looking flower-like leaf in the middle. I tried the other one with no color picking out and also was not round - more like long oblong. This just floated around the top of the water. Not pretty at all. I don't recommend buying this packet with 10 "blooming" tea. I am returning the remaining packet with 8 tea balls.
J : It's not bad nor bitter
They don't bloom as vibrantly as I thought they would. Tea tastes somewhat bland. It may have been a problem with freshness (I didn't try them till I got my glass teapot 3 months later.). I can't tell which tea is which (green or jasmine?). It's not bad nor bitter, but I would like something stronger/more distinctive. I think the longer ones bloom more nicely than the round ones.
Katie : Good taste

This tea is as uplifting as it is beautiful and refreshing. A wonderful way to start the day and a good excuse to have my teen spend a little time with us over a relaxing cup of tea.

The shipping was FAST! I live in Oklahoma and it was shipped from china and I got in the mail in 12 days! Wasn't expecting it for another 3weeks at the latest. It worked perfectly and I took some amazing pics. It had a great taste and was full of exotic flavor. They also sent as a nice note thanking us for buying in a cute little bear card and also a china RMB 1 yuan. Super sweet. Love it all! Very pleased!
Admin Security & Protection : Great Tea, Decent Bargain...
The tea was superb in terms of quality. When the tea blooms into fruition the taste is phenomenal. Only 1 star off due to the tea bag having a puncture in it when it arrived. Other than that I when I finish my recent stash I would definitely order again.
Tiffany : 5 blooming bulbs of each, Jasmine & Green!

Paige Etheridge : Tea is lovely

Excellent Products. Use it everyday. The blooming flower tea works really well with the glass tea thermos & I am able to refill it many times throughout the day for each tea pearl. Quality packaging. The tea blossoms just like described, is beautiful & taste delicious. When used with the glass thermos definitly becomes a conversation piece - people are always asking me what I am drinking.

Fife : Strain it and your fine with these average blooms.
Your average bloom loosely tied so expect particles in your brew.

GG : Very Pretty
These are very pretty. They seem to take a while to fully bloom and sink, but no problem.
Txrz : perfect gift!
I purchased two sets of the blooming jasmine and green flower teas as Christmas gifts. The recipients were thrilled to have received such interesting presents. Both of them raved over the uniqueness and fantastic tastes of the teas. The only negative with these gifts is that it will be a little more difficult to purchase something these hard to buy for relatives will find as delightful this next Christmas!

Scherek : The worst!
Not even worth 1 star! I cannot drink these! I read the ingredients as I am allergic to Lillie’s and orchids. It said cardinations are the only flowers in this tea. Well that is NOT true! My throat swelled up and it smelt like Lillie’s! Now I’m stuck with gosh knows what this tea is that I cannot drink or return!
eman : GF love the tought

Linda Harper : Beautiful flowers!
Wonderful tea. Love it! I served it to my gals at tea time. What a beautiful impression it make. It was the feature of conservation.
J : Disgusting
1. The flower doesn’t bloom as described
2. There was a literal hair inside of the “flower”, I attached photos, I was disgusted.
Kathryn Noel : Better in store.
Flavorless. Probably because they were shipped and not fresh.
Russell W. : Wonderful
I bought several bags of this to give as gifts everyone who received it was greatly please n impressed with the tea..

D. Stine : Great product and service
The tea arrived quickly and beautifully packaged. It was perfect for a gift, and I kept some for myself. It is absolutely delicious. I will definitely order again. The price is much better than most others I've found.
Renee Croome : Stale
They were old and stale when I received them. They never opened up in hot water and didn't have much smell or color. It was a disappointment
E M : Beautiful and flavorful...
Beautiful flowers. My guests loved the presentation (western). It’s nice to have tea that is also beautiful.
eman : GF love the tought
GF love the tought, flavor is realy good, tho did not fully bloom, this might have been because of the size of our glass tea pot
dach : Try Another Brand.
I am an avid tea drinker. Used as intended. Tastes like metal. Wouldn't recommend it.
D. Walczak : Five Stars
Flavor is amazing... so healthy too
Cheryl Abb : blooming tea
I originally gave a bad review, because I made a cup of tea and there was no bloom. However I tried another and this one is beautiful!! I recently ordered blooming teas from three different companies and this by far is the prettiest bloom yet!!!
Maggie Buttars : The taste was amazing
It was great
MT Amini : Exactly as described!!!!
Exactly as described!!!! As you read the product info, you always wonder if products like this are what they describe them as. This one is.
Russell W. : Wonderful
I bought several bags of this to give as gifts everyone who received it was greatly please n impressed with the tea..
jen : Takes some getting used to
I had to keep pushing the balls down because they kept floating up to the top and wouldn't bloom. Once they take on enough water they stay on the bottom of the pot and will finally bloom. Don't let it steep too long, or if you do make sure you change out the water frequently, otherwise the tea gets really dark colored and doesn't taste right. You're basically using an actual plant, not a tea bag and not loose leaves, so you can't use the same tactics as you would for those.
The balls also aren't labeled. You have to look at them and split them visually.
Erica : Fun novelty; so-so tea
The novelty of watching the blooms open was fun, but the tea was only so-so.
