Answer: It states Jamaican brand sorrel but I am not sure

How many cups of sorrel are in one bag... I know the bag says 4.5 ounces but when you measure it, how many cups does one bag yield?

Answer: I didn't measure it, but I just eyeballed it. I would estimate minimum 2 cups, maximum 3 cups of dried sorrel. Probably closer to 3 if you don't pack it tightly.

Answer: Aveluk is a TYPE of sorrel, and it is used in soup. This particular product is Jamaican Sorrel. It is very tart and excellent for iced tea. You get a generous bag of dried sorrel blossoms. Make about a quart at a time. Try a tablespoon of blossoms. The flavor is strong, and you can water it down if it's too strong. Use a large strainer to filter the tea when you're done.

I have been using sorrel since I was a child. This product does not taste like sorrel. In fact, it has zero flavor. Its almost as if the item is something else all together. I have never experienced anything like this. Look for another seller. Waste of money!

Another successful Christmas in "farin" and I still got to have my traditional Jamaican Sorrel rum punch. This is a good deal, and the 2 packs made me about a gallon of sorrel. I added my rum, wine, ginger and pimento and my Caribbean Pirates loved it..it tastes like fresh picked sorrel, no one could believe it was made from dried buds. Nuff respect, dis irie!

Good sorrel. My problem with it is whatever the used to preserve it, when you brew the sorrel there’s all this black stuff not at the bottom but at the top around the rim of whatever you brew it in. Not to mention when you try to rinse the cup that you drink the sorrel from with hot water whatever is left in the cup turns the water black immediately making me question if what I drink was safe. I tried three bags of this product from several sellers and they are all the same. Maybe I’m overthinking who knows

Like others, I have enjoyed Sorrel and Ginger drinks at Ethnic restaurants and Festivals and the incredibly steep price per 16oz cup made me want to try and make my own. From reading other reviews, we know the advertised amount is incorrect and it leaves a black filmy residue behind. I bought the Tea Bags from Caribbean Dreams for a great price, then saw this listing. $7.00 for 2 bags! That sounded great. Cut open the bag & poured it into a Tupperware container... Went to pull out a handful for my boiling water today and found a LONG HUMAN HAIR intertwined!! UGH! My hair is 1/2" long & Flamingo Pink so.... More sifting found a pebble, something that looked like sewing threads and several twigs! The other bag was at least hairless, thank goodness. Gross!!
