Directions

Brewing: To savor the full flavor of our teas, bring fresh water to a rolling boil. Pour hot water directly over the tea bag in a pre-heated pot or cup. Brew 3-5 minutes or to desired taste. One tea bag makes 8 ounces of hot tea. For iced tea, brew double strength.

J-Roc : It’s called double bergamot for a reason

Good quality tea. Fragrant and delicious. If you like Earl Grey, then I assume you like the taste and smell of bergamot oil, but if you don’t LOVE bergamot oil, you might want to steer clear of this tea. You can really taste and smell the extra bergamot, and the wonderful scent makes cracking open one of the individually sealed tea bags a real joy.

Be careful when you steep this one though - if you try to use two tea bags (like I do with some other teas when making a big mug full), the bergamot blast can create too much of a tart flavour (at least for my liking). Stash didn’t skimp on the amount of tea in each bag though, so I find one bag is enough even for a larger mug (or when making a London fog).

To be honest with you, this tea might be a bit of an acquired taste. After the first few cups of it, I just wasn’t sure I loved it as much as some other Earl Grey iterations, but after a few weeks, I learned to love it. This tea has turned me into somewhat of an Earl Grey fanatic, and other than fresh loose Earl Grey tea leaves, I haven’t found another Earl Grey that I like as much as this one. I’m determined to try every Earl Grey I can get my hands on though, and I’ll update the review if my opinions on this change.

I was so excited when I got this. It came with a neat blue, recycled packaging. It looked like it would be a promising product. I thought it would be double the Earl Grey flavour. It was not. This just tasted like regular black tea. I've tried it hot, cold, in milk, after steeping for a while... almost in every single way possible. It just doesn't measure up to even regular Earl Grey tea that you'd get from Tetley, Twinnings, and Tim Hortons, let alone be double the bergamot flavour. I had my parents try it just in case my tastebuds were off, but it wasn't--they couldn't taste much of an Earl Grey flavour. Either that, or our whole family had a misconception of what Earl Grey was supposed to taste like all along. I'm disappointed. It wasn't "bad" tea, but the name doesn't match with the product.

I took a chance reading all the positive reviews. I am a tea person, mostly, green tea. I had tried fruit flavored or scented ones and some I liked, some not so much. This though, took me by surprise. It smells so good and tastes great. Even better that it has 5% caffeine to keep me going during the day. At first, I was not that happy that I had to order two boxes at a time. Well, that two boxes is nearly finish so I'm ordering another batch. As for the price, it's about the same prices on any other tea.

Because this tea is titled Double Bergamot Earl Grey... I expected that it would be much stronger than the other Earl Grey Tea's I've tried. It's weak; bergamot smell is muted by a sour smell. It tasted like watered down black tea (even when I had used two sachets for a cup and half of water). Although I can taste traces of bergamot... the lingering sour smell is distracting. Not buying again.

I am a huge tea drinker-by 10 a.m. I have usually consumed two whole pots of tea. I do like Earl Grey and was looking forward to that signature scent and flavour from these bags but did not get it. It is similar to the generic store brand teas you can buy-very little aroma and flavour. Like I said, disappointing.

I really like earl grey tea with strong essence of bergamot. Therefore, I ordered stash's double bergamot earl grey.
I can't smell or taste bergamot in this tea.
Actually It tasted awful that I trashed 2 boxes which I ordered from amazon.
This is first time I tried stash's product and I don't think I will buy stash's tea in the future.

Even though taste is a personal matter, I would definitely not consider this tea having "double" bergamot; that was the main reason I purchased it, but it just has regular amount of bergamot (cf. Twinnig, etc., even maybe less than Twinning's). Otherwise the tea is of good quality.

My favourite earl grey tea it has a unique taste. I was introduced to this brand in the USA and I am hooked. It's a shame it isn't more easily available. Tip buy in bulk as postage costs are high.

Okay so I love me some Earl Grey, and was not sure if I would enjoy this double bergamot, but I definitely do. Now quite a while ago, I did try a UK brand with extra bergamot and found it a bit too strong to my liking but Stash has balanced it out nicely.
If you enjoy a full flavoured Earl Grey, this may be the one. I have had it at full strength (with a bit of milk), which I found equally as nice as my 3rd cup watered down mugful, sans sugar or milk! (EG. black)
For you Earl Grey connoisseurs, definitely worth having easily in the cupboard!
Got 2 boxes of 18 bags for 3.30, so was reasonable cost too.

This is one of my favorite teas, but I can rarely find it in stores anymore. It has a very intense bergamot flavor (as one might imagine from its name) that doesn't seem so much as "double" but as "I dare you to handle this much!" I'm betting the flavor's not for everyone, and I only drink it occasionally, but it's really good and I wish there was more of it around in stores.
