Product reviews of The Republic of Tea, Apricot Decaf Tea, 50 Count
Debra Mattosky : Fantastic tea amazing flavor. In a can not a lot of wasted paper!!
Love this tea!! I’m changing brands fir sure!! Flavor is amazing. I simply love that it’s freshly kept in a can. Surprisingly there is only a tea bag with no additional packaging. I love the reduction of the waste!! Bravo for making a fantastic product that reduces waste saving time efforts and a lot less garbage!!♥️
Mslin : Felt I got ripped off from the price
Expensive! Buy direct from their website. . This is double the price!
Discerning Shopper : Delicious! Will Order Again????
Has a depth of apricot flavor, which is rather difficult to find. It’s a green tea, so it’s healthy, and decaf so we can enjoy after dinner.
We love this tea and will be purchasing again!
De'Jana' Parker : Tastes like vanilla wedding cake :)
Took one sip of this vanilla almond black tea and I knew.....this had become my new favorite tea :) I enjoy my tea sweet so I added a hint of pure cane sugar and it was lovely. The taste reminds me of vanilla wedding cake and it smells so good! I typically don’t add milk to my tea but I might give it a try with this flavor, I think it’ll make for a great tea latte.
World Traveler : Best Tea
This is the best flavored vanilla almond tea out there and it is healthy and not covered in chemicals like other teas. Very expensive but I have learned you can use one tea bag 3 times in one day and it still tastes as strong and flavorful as the 1st cup. Love this tea!
WorkInProgress : RIP OFF & POOR QUALITY CONTROL at the customer's expense...
I just received my latest order, and everything seemed okay at first. The cylindrical tin was the right product, Vanilla Almond Tea, but when I opened the tin and was anticipating the now very well recognized aroma of the tea, I smelled something completely different and foreign. I still had a tin from my last order which I opened up to see if somehow my sense of smell was beginning to fail me, but a side by side comparison let me know that I was correct in smelling two completely different tea's, and I could also see that the tea bags contained different teas. The original/previously purchased tea bags had much darker tea enclosed, where the recent purchased tea bags had obvious lighter colored tea leaves/powder inside. So, obviously and unfortunately, I can only assume that somehow the specific batch was goofed up at the factory and they put the wrong tea bags into the tin containers for Vanilla Almond. Whatever this tea is, sorry guys, it's definitely not vanilla almond and it's horrible. I paid over $10 for a product that I'd come to expect high quality from that initially made it somewhat worth it to pay a much higher price than your average black teas, but to pay that kind of price only to have the entire tin be the wrong tea, and then it be not even palatable... well, sorry, this was the second mix up for one of my orders by the company, and it's just an indicator that they either have very poor quality control, or they have none at all when it comes to packaging their products, and therefore, very low regard for their customers.
UPDATE: When I compared the ingredients on the tins, there HAS been a change - the previous version contained black tea, natural vanilla and almond flavoring, and actual vanilla bean and almond bits. The newer version no longer lists vanilla beans and almond bits in the ingredients! So what the heck are we paying the same expensive and high price for? It's no longer the same product and definitely beyond inferior taste/flavor, aroma, and quality. and I'm very, very disappointed and won't be ordering from them again.
Elaine Mccarthy : Flavorful
I’ve never been a tea drinker but that has certainly changed since I first tasted this tea. Received a gift package and ginger peach was my favorite. I’ve since given as a gift to tea drinkers and ordered more for myself. Great flavor!!!!
Louisa : Changed the recipe?
Did they change the recipe for this tea? First of all, it took 3 teabags in a small cup to get any flavor. I do not taste peach, only ginger. I have to add honey to amp up the taste. I used to order this tea 10 years ago, and would occasionally treat myself to it. I loved it back then, now it's a disappointment. An expensive disappointment.
AGJ : Great Replacement for the Discontinued The Bates Tea!
It's really so close in flavor and hey still available! Also, the only thing missing is a touch of Vanilla which my husband says he's not missing. If you want the Vanilla, I recommend Maison Routin 1883 Vanilla Syrup. A one Liter bottle is only $14 and it's brilliant in that tea and for making London Fogs as well as coffee.

Kimia : Made me sick, please be careful.
I like black tea. I like vanilla. I like almonds. All three in a tea should be great then, right? I was so, so wrong.
It delivers on the black tea part, like it definitely tastes like black tea. Can't smell or taste any vanilla, so that's a bit disappointing.
The almond, though? I can sorta taste it, but I can for sure SMELL it. I'm not sure if it's supposed to smell so pungent and strong or if I'm just particularly sensitive to it, but the heavy scent honestly makes me feel ill. I got nauseous the first time I made myself a cup, but I made two more cups after with varying levels of sugar and milk to see if I can still salvage this purchase. Nothing was really effective. I wish I could return it and get my money back, but I broke the seal and opened it, so probably not
kasandra : Best Vanilla Tea I Have Ever Had!!
I would give thus tea 10 stars if I could. It is the best tea I have ever had!! I have tried so many vanilla teas over the years and this one really is in a class of its own. I got busy and left bag in for 10 minutes and NO bitterness just enhanced flavor. I have already recommended this tea to 20 workmates during a zoom meeting and all my family members. I will now try some of their other flavors. I have found my go to tea brand now.
zack : False advertising?
I think its fair to say the tea inside the can is not vanilla almond. some reviews of this tea were great others are descriptive of my experience. i first got the peach ginger and it was very good. one of my favorites now. so i figured the bad review of the vanilla almond from 2018 was outdated and tried it. Big mistake, it smelled absolutely nothing like vanilla almond but i gave it a try anyway and yep it tasted exactly like it smells. absolutely repulsive. probably more disgusting than sucking water out of a sponge...

gammas : A very tasty refreshing cup of tea!
This is the perfect cup of tea for me. The peach and ginger is enough flavor that cream, sugar or honey does not need to be added. It also makes a great glass of iced tea. The round airtight storage tin takes minimal space in the cupboard or on the counter. It would also be great to keep a tin at your workplace.
Nicole : A 5-Star Tea!
I love this company and their presentation. These sturdy little tubes are so cute and the perfect way to store tea in a neat and minimal way. But seriously, though this tea is DESSERT IN A CUP. It needs NOTHING to be delicious. But I'm sure it would be good with a little milk or cream if you're so inclined. It's my afternoon treat that I have almost every day! One day I'm going to find the decaf version they also make and get that as well. It's absolutely delicious!

IraLA : great in the can (50); a large bag (250) doesn't stay fresh
Yes, it costs more in a can of 50 than either a bag of 50 or 250, but we're talking pennies here (I know it adds up), and it's still cheaper than coffee.
We love this one: ginger peach.

jojo : I wrote a earlier response that I did not receive this item, I WAs WRONG!
This is a excellent tea, full of flavor and very. Relaxing. With the hassle of the
Holiday all I saw was the Lemon Lift tea which is also very good. I did not know
My husband had put the other away for the last 3 weeks I’ve waited for it.
So much going on over the holidays I did not know it arrived weeks ago. I’m Very Sorry
For my earlier feedback!
BB : Best decaf tea that doesn’t taste decaf
I drink tea all day long , but can no longer handle caffeine . So sad! But then I discovered this tea and nothing compares— for real. Most decaf tea is trash. Bland, lackluster— but not this beautiful blend! I drink 50 bags every 2 weeks, price is so reasonable for the quality
Yvonne : Sad to say...
The flavor combination has always been a welcomed one during the holiday season. This tea, however, is one that was very disappointing. I noted neither the flavor of orange nor cranberry but only a bitterness whose affect made my tongue feel as if it had been assaulted by tannins. I would not buy it again. I do appreciate the container and the art work on the label. I will use it to store sewing notions.
Susan K Hughes : Delicious!
I'm not a big tea drinker, but this tea is DELICIOUS! The almond flavor is very pronounced and I love it. I will be drinking this in lieu of coffee every morning. Yum.
V Smith : Free samples with my tea! WOW
Not only did I like this tea, and it's decaf, and the packaging was recycled, there were 2 free samples of other teas for me to try. NOBODY DOES THAT ANYMORE!!!! WOW, and the samples were also something I will order. This was such a nice surprise and so appreciated. I wish more people/sellers were still this way. Thank you.
Amazon Customer : Arrived in a crushed, open can
In the age of Covid, you'd have to be stupid to even try the tea when it arrived in this condition. Can was crushed and open, and tea bags were all over the inside of the shipping bag. It's all going in the trash without me even being able to try it. And it's not returnable, so apparently I just threw my money away.

Chuck Ford : I would purchase this product again!
This product was a good purchase for me. One thing you might think about is purchasing multiple items when you purchase something small like this. One item shipping can be more expensive than the item...I purchased this item in bulk. the taste is great and I love mine hot! Thanks.//Chuck
Bollycats : Just ok
I love vanilla almond anything so I thought these would be good. They are, but they have a very weak flavor. I steeped for 5 minutes and there's still not a whole lot of flavor there. The taste is good but I want it stronger.
Gardenia : Not very Flavorful
Ok, I thought this would be an upgrade to Celestial's country peach passion which is delicious, and this would also have ginger and pack a punch. Nope. Weak and I used two bags, and bland.
I get it that's it's healthier and a great company, all that, but I wanted it to taste great too.
Ab : Very Good Tea
Very good tea. I love ginger but sometimes it could be overwhelming in recipes and teas yet this tea flavor is not. Packaged well for shipping. As you can see, perforated cardboard triangles is used to fill up unused space in a shipping box. Not sure if they had extra samples to give away or if they are shipped with every order. ???? Thank you!
E. Clark : Tea was just ok for me
I bought this based on reviews stating it had great flavor but I didn’t think it did. I used 2 tea bags because I used a large mug (over 10 oz) but it still was just sort of ok. I’ll finish the tea but probably won’t purchase again.
Carol S. : Great tea but packaging is a problem.
I’ve always enjoyed this tea—very flavorful and refreshing without caffeine. However, the price increased significantly, and the packaging during the last shipment resulted in a damaged product: the canister had been crushed due to heavier items that were included in the box, and the tea bags were scattered/split/shredded throughout the box. I contacted the seller to leave feedback and request a replacement because I couldn’t confirm whether the tea bags had been contaminated, waited 2 days, and received no response. As a result, I cancelled my subscription to receive this tea, since I could no longer rely on receiving a non-damaged product.
Joern Kroll : The most stale, tasteless Assam tea ever
I purchased this Organic Assam Republic of Tea being quite confident that, like the company's other teas, this would be first-rate. I'm sorry to say that the tea has absolutely no flavor--it's like drinking tea made from a piece of paper. Assam should be full-bodied and rich. I'll stick with our regular Yorkshire Gold loose tea.
carilynn68 : How much tea could a tea totaller tote...
I enjoy a wide variety of teas and this is the one I consider my 'go to' brand and flavor. If I could only ever have one tea again for the rest of my tea totalling days it would be this one!
gsxr : Very weak
Blackberry Sage black tea sounded so alluring when I purchased this. I was disappointed however because the tea is so weak, it barely has any taste at all. I brewed one teabag in 5 ounces of about 190 to 195 degree water, let it steep for five minutes with a kitchen timer, and I got something little better than hot water, very little taste at all. I eventually settled on using five teabags in 8 to 10 ounces of water, and then it just tastes ok. I get more flavor from one bag if grocery store brand black decaf regular tea.

April A. Rundquist : good product... once you get past the packaging
The only reason I'm giving this just four stars is that the packaging and the tin label had obviously been exposed to plant compounds that I'm very allergic to and I had to dump the teabags in a ziplock bag and put them in a drawer to protect them from light. When brewed correctly (which, admittedly, can be harder than it looks - this goes bitter fast), this is my favorite Republic of Tea tea. Now if only they hadn't added rooibos into the chocolate version of this (can't have it)...
Sierra Gordon : Great Tea, Smashed Container
Great tea of awesome peachiness. Still gonna use the tea bags as they weren't damaged just wanted to show everyone what the fulfillment center did to the poor crazy container!!! My poor, poor tea!
kasandra : Best Vanilla Tea I Have Ever Had!!
I have found my go to tea brand now.
noneed01 : Great flavor and in value size
Really like this tea a lot. My son and I have it every evening after dinner with a little honey it is fantastic. I like the airtight storage it came in. It will last a long time and stay fresh for us.
Donna : Decaf Vanilla Almond...yum!
Decaf Vanilla Almond is my evening dessert treat! Actually I've not had a Republic of Tea flavor I haven't liked, they're truly superior teas. I'm somewhat of a tea aficionado and get everything from local blends to Numi, Yogi, and Gypsy teas. Republic of Tea is consistently satisfying and yummy. But back to the Decaf Vanilla Almond...it's comforting and sweet enough that you might like it without adding sweeter. The vanilla and almond flavors are perfectly balanced. My favorite way to drink this is as a latte with just a little bit of honey and coconut milk added.
L. Paulson : Flavorful without being overpowering
This tea is like a hint of a spritz cookie in a cup - not overly powerful, so still tastes like tea. Perfect for those who want to mix in a milk of any kind to their tea. Nice in afternoon treat.

Wisconsin reader : Not enough flavor
I love Earl Grey tea and have always enjoyed the Republic of Tea blends. However, this version of Earl Grey tea must have too little bergamot in it. It is somewhat tasteless.
SamG : DISAPPOINTED !
I have bought Republic of Tea Earl Greyer Decaf tea for years. I ordered it in bulk. To me, it was the BEST Earl Grey flavor of any teas I had tried over the years. This last shipment of bulk tea was awful tasting. They had obviously changed the formula. It is still sitting in my pantry and I have now switched to Bigelow decaf Earl Grey. Needless to say, after all this time of enjoying Republic of Tea, unless they change back to their original flavor, I won't be buying it.
Lmilby : My favorite tea flavor!
I used to buy this stuff pretty regularly at our local Barnes & Nobles, but they quit carrying it. So now when I get some, I stretch it out and make it last, savoring each glass! I am a fair tea aficionado, so I don't mind paying a little extra for good black tea....unsweetened of course! Great product and arrived ahead of anticipated schedule.
