Does anyone know how this tea compares to London Cuppa?

Answer: I haven't had cups, but I've had PG tips. This tea is darker and more mellow. Slightly sweet and less bitter. I drink it every day and it's my favorite. I was a Lyons gal before, and this is better.

Answer: The bags are discs. No strings but I've had no issues removing the used bag. It's very go tea. I make it a point to keep it in stock.

How does this compare to Barry's Tea?

Answer: Don’t know Barry’s tea at all. I like strong English teas: my favorites encompass Dublin Morning and LifeBoat in addition to Glengettie.

I was introduced to this tea at a local tea shop and when they closed I looked all over to try an find it locally, but had no luck. I'm so glad Amazon carries it. It is just the best I ever tasted. I know that it's intended to be drunk with milk, but I drink it without most of the time. I love the full, dark flavor -- strong, but not bitter.

I enjoy trying different teas from other countries. This is easily the best of the many teas I have ordered from Amazon. It is strong enough to add milk without losing any flavor. However, it is still smooth served straight and unsweetened. I use it for iced tea everyday. 4 bags steeped for 3-4 minutes in low roll boiling water makes 1 gallon.

We drink a lot of tea, something my wife wouldn't have done If she didn't marry this ol' Brit. And I love just about any tea I have had, including about a dozen green teas from China. PG tips is a good tea, and a lot less expensive, so it is good for an everyday tea, these small boxes of tea I buy once in a while for a little change. My wife can tell the difference, and says this is a much better tea, I can't, to be perfectly honest. But she said that about PG tips from a previous brand we had (which I can't remember what it was, but I know it wasn't Lipton's, I can't stand that stuff, not even sure it's tea). But, I can't complain about this one, it is a good tea, and I will buy again. I'll get the 'gold' box next, see how that might be, hopefully better, that's why it is called 'gold' I assume. Probably a hype, don't know. The differences in taste from one brand to another are very subtle, if they have the same type leaves, so I am not a big fan of any type of tea. Others may be able to tell the difference, their taste buds can probably pick it up better. Still, it is a nice smooth tea.

I've never had this tea before but I really like it and will definitely repurchase. I use a large mug and like a lot of flavor so I use two tea bags in the morning. I just switched from coffee to tea so I occasionally need an afternoon pick me up at which time I only use one tea bag. I don't really know the correct way to describe the flavor and aroma as I am a black tea newby but I will say I find the flavor malty and hearty with a faint delicate floral note. I wanted a tea that was drinkable without sugar and could stand up to a fair amount of milk and this tea certainly ticks those boxes.

Glengettie is a good, strong tea that makes a very nice builder's brew.

I do not love the flavor as much as I love my regular Yorkshire Tea, but if I could not get that, Glengettie would entirely suffice, though it's more expensive.

Although there are teas I like better, it's ENTIRELY worth trying the Glengettie to see if its flavors are to your taste. It also has lovely packaging; I liked that there were 2 foil packages to allow for keeping one set of tea foil-sealed while drinking the first sleeve.

I absolutely love this tea. It is a very smooth black tea. I think labeling it as “80 foil teabags” is misleading. There are 80 teabags, but they are round teabags in the usual filter paper, not in individual foil wrappers like Bigelow teabags. There are 2 foil bags in the package, each having 40 teabags inside. For me, this is just fine. I don’t really need or want the extra packaging.

I was introduced to Glengettie tea (the favorite tea of the Welsh) when my sister married a Welshman. They live here in the U.S. and his mother would ship this brand to him, as it wasn’t sold here. When she passed, it was too expensive to order overseas. We hoarded every tea bag for special treats! What a happy surprise to find it on Amazon!! I ordered several boxes and am giving them to my brother-in-law as a surprise. Of course, I got an extra for me! ;) I received the boxes right away and am very pleased with the service. I like this tea. It is fairly full bodied, but not quite as much as a black tea can be. It's slightly malty, but not a strong malty flavor like a pure Assam tea. It has a nice tea flavor - hard to explain, but good. It stands up well to milk, but I don't think it's strong enough to require milk. The teabags are wrapped in two foil pouches of 40 bags, which is good for helping keep the tea fresh for longer.
