Questions about Frontier Co-op Organic Fair Trade Ceylon (Orange Pekoe) Tea 1lb
Q:
When you cook this on a low fire for a long time does it produce good aroma? Is the tatse so bitter? Is it real Orange Pekoe (OP) grade from Sri Lanka
Answer: Don't "simmer" it over a low fire for a long time. I steep it for about 15 minutes and brew it quite strong, about 25 grams/gallon (aprox 1/2 cup), for kombucha. really nice aroma and not bitter.
Answer: I just steep it for 5 minutes and find it to be very smooth. Nice aroma, lovely rich color.
Q:
what is the production year ?
Q:
What is inside the bag....Loose Tea leaves, cinammon sticks....?
Answer: Lovely loose tea leaves.
Answer: No cinnamon sticks. Just loose tea in it’s a very very good black tea. I love it
Answer: Just loose leaf tea. We love it and drink it everyday.
Answer: This is just organic black tea and it's good tasting. There is no cinnamon in it.
Q:
Can you Cold brew these tea leaves?
Answer: I drink it hot, but I suppose you could bre it then refrigerate it. Might want to use less expensive brand.
Q:
Does this tea have caffeine?
Answer: Definitely has caffeine. Need it to feed the SCOBY for Kombucha.
Q:
Are there any teas for chronic pain ostetopois and fibromailja.
Q:
I’ve not tried this tea before. Does it have an orange taste?
Answer: No, not at all. Orange pekoe supposedly makes the best iced tea, which is what we use it for.
Answer:
Answer:
Answer: No, It is a strong Black Tea, I like it almost the as dark as Coffee. I drink tea with a little Milk, although it is great as an ice tea too. My family is English, Ceylon Orange Pekoe is the tea type I grew up with.
Answer: No I always wondered why they call it that
Answer: Not really smooth clean taste that I use for kombucha
Q:
I’m trying to find a healthier replacement for the Lipton iced tea. Does this tea taste at all similar to Lipton?
Answer: It has similar taste notes, but is much fresher and fuller. I prefer the Davidson’s Ceylon OP for the classic iced tea taste. It is also organic although the title doesn’t say so.
Answer: Yes, that’s why I originally bought it. I find it’s stronger than English Breakfast and might be stronger than Irish. I’m English, I brew for 6 minutes ( you might want 4 to start) MIF .
Answer: I think it is a smoother flavor than Lipton
Q:
Is there any way to get a sample of this tea?
Answer: Hi, all of our inventory is at an Amazon fulfillment center. We don't have the product on hand to send out a sample. Thank you.
Product reviews of Frontier Co-op Organic Fair Trade Ceylon (Orange Pekoe) Tea 1lb
J. Provost : Five Stars
Great..love it!
Dhop : Great Black Tea
This is a good quality organic black tea for the price. It doesn't give me migraines perhaps because it is more mild and not as strong or dark as some other black teas.
Nancy Eller : Great flavor.
Great tea.
Sunflower : Five Stars
It is a wonderful tea with full flavor, great taste.
Amazon Customer : Great tase
Always good products for Frontier Co-op
Robert Fox : Will buy again.
Beautiful taste.
Justin Hurst : Good tea
Very nice
Wayne in Indy : Decent but weak.
This tea is ok but it is also pretty weak. I'm literally using more than a tablespoon for a 14oz mug and I have to let it steep for 3 to 4 minutes to get a decent strength.
Yes the price is good, but is it really? If you're having to use twice as much tea leaves as other brands but those other brands only cost 50% more than this one, was it a bargain? Nope.
I'm not so rich that I can afford cheap tea, if you catch my meaning.
Justin Hurst : Good tea
Very nice
skaboy71 : Five Stars
Great Tea.
Matty P : Rich tase, Great value.
This is a great value and has rich flavor which can be brewed more than once. I use this as a base in many tea blends to give it some umph! A bit on the strong side and benefits from a quick cold water rinse before brewing.
Sophie : Frontier Co-op Ceylon (Orange Pekoe) High Grown
Frontier Co-op Ceylon (Orange Pekoe) High Grown is just OK. If you make it a tad stronger it is bitter. At one point purchased a more expensive single estate version and it was super smooth even if you made it strong. Get what you pay for. Not a fan. Will look for other smoother varieties that are organic as well.
Robert Fox : Will buy again.
Beautiful taste.
Dhop : Great Black Tea
This is a good quality organic black tea for the price. It doesn't give me migraines perhaps because it is more mild and not as strong or dark as some other black teas.
Jhunki : Flavorless and Tasteless
I am a frequent Frontier products customer and have purchased several herbs and spices over the years. This time, I regret buying this Ceylon Orange Pekoe tea, as it is bland and flavorless. Unfortunately, return on this item is not possible so money wasted.
Amazon, please note, as I would like to get a refund on my order!
M. Ryan : Good Quality
The tastes really good. It has a slight bitterness to it but all black tea does, except for pu-erh tea.
skaboy71 : Five Stars
Great Tea.
suzie clary : But it's still nice. Any recommendations on how to get a stronger ...
The flavor is almost too mellow. But it's still nice. Any recommendations on how to get a stronger flavor? I use it mostly for kombucha.

Amazon Customer : Excellent iced tea, top quality
Wonderful tea...makes an excellent iced tea that is very clear, no cloudiness at all, has no fannings... every time I order this it's excellent quality and better than any of the others I had tried before I found this tea
GYK : Hard to find better Organic Ceylon tea
Its pretty good.
Some non-organic might taste better, but do not want to take chances with sprays.
Seadollar50 : Very Good Tea
Delicious tea, we tried some of this brand for the first time today and like it very much. Of course it is pricier than some brands but it is organic and a little goes a long way. Haven't noticed it being bitter at all, which has been a major problem for me with other brands. Just started using in our custom mix for Kombucha too, have to wait a few days to taste that.

Ahmed : It makes a dleicious steamed tea
This is a good quality tea. It can hold it tastes and leaves for long steamed cook. First, add one to two big spoons of tea in the top pot. Add water to the bottom pot and start to cook. Once the bottom pot starts to boil, add the boiling water into the top pot. Add more water to the bottom one if needed and bring it to boil. Then, bring the fire down to 2 or 2 and half to cook by steam. Serve after 10 to 15 minutes; or once you see the leaves triple their size and grow bigger; or when you smell the tea aroma. Poor tea from top and water from bottom to balance taste as deaired. Add suger if desired. You can keep the pot over the fire for over than one hour. It will hold the taste. This is a Turkish style tea. You will love it
M. Ryan : Good Quality
The tastes really good. It has a slight bitterness to it but all black tea does, except for pu-erh tea.
Brandon : Flavor is good, but seems to be lacking in potency
The flavor of this tea is good, but it is severely lacking in potency. You really have to put a lot of tea in each cup in order to get enough flavor to come out, especially when compared to some of the other teas that I have had in the past. The price is not that high though so I would still recommend it with the caveat that you will need to use more than normal.
Dialogue King : Good Basic Black Tea
I use this to make iced tea by the gallon. It has a good flavor but I have to use an extra 1/8 cup of leaves to get the strength I want. The last bulk Orange Pekoe tea I bought was from David’s Tea. I used less tea leaves to make a batch but it was a lot more expensive.
Robert Fox : Will buy again.
Beautiful taste.
Yancey S Davis : Great for my Kombucha.
I use this for making my kombucha. I like a more full bodied 'booch so I use 30 grams/gallon and this gives me the strength I like. Others may wish to use half that amount as suggested in many recipes.
This is one of the best "Bangs for the buck" working out to about $1.74/oz whereas other bulk teas in local stores are up to $3.50/oz!
I will be re-ordering this tea when I run low.
5555 : Great
Great
Sunshine : Excellent tea!
Very tasty fresh! I am very pleased with quantity, quality, taste and price! Thank you i will order again! Great!
Rishi R. : Mild and smooth
This is a nice black tea. It's labelled as organic and trust that there were no chemicals used in the process. It's a mild and smooth black tea which, I now prefer. I would recommend.
5555 : Great
Great
B Vance : it grows on you
I was a little disappointed at first. It wasn't at all flowery or citrusy or anything. Adding more honey didn't help. But reducing my usual tsp.--- DID. . . . Half a tsp. just seems to let it be itself. (I take milk with black teas.) It's become my first choice, first thing in the morning.
suzie clary : But it's still nice. Any recommendations on how to get a stronger ...
