Answer: It would be nice if the ingredients could list the exact type of teas used in this blend if it is indeed a blend of teas

Answer: Irish Breakfast is a blend of usually Indian black teas with usually more Assam than English Breakfast has, so a smokier flavor.

Answer: The only labeling is what you see in the picture. My understanding is that it is just tea leaves.

Where is this grown?

Answer: I don't know the answer, but since it's a blend of teas, I figured they were grown in a variety of locations/countries. I chose to believe the "Fair Trade" label

Would this be good for basic black iced tea?

Answer: Yes! It’s perfect for that. Great black tea flavor with no bitterness.

Using it to make Kombucha, larger scale. Way less expensive to buy it in bulk. Great tasting product and Organic.

The tea is good, however, there was a huge hole in the bag when I got it. It wasn't in the shipping bag but the tea bag itself and there was tea all over inside the shipping bag, a lot wasted. Other than that the tea is good, I use it for kombucha.

I think the taste of the tea is fine. However, it is a processed tea and I prefer loose unprocessed tea...less acid. My mistake and won't order it again.

To note...black teas vary in boldness, texture and flavor. Some are stronger than others. Irish Breakfast isn't a strong bold black tea but again, I found this tea to be good for Irish Breakfast.

I use this to make my "Good Morning Tea". It is strong and robust flavor, and is just perfect for the morning or mid-afternoon.
I only wish the packaging was resealable.

Not what I expected. On the picture it looks like dried large black leaves. In person the pieces are much smaller and there are some brown inclusions. Tastes OK but not what I expected based on the price and the picture they used to advertise it.

I had been buying the 6-can lots of Twining's Irish Breakfast Tea from Amazon for several years, as it was much cheaper than at my local Whole Foods, the only place I could find loose Twining's in Nashville (other stores carry only the tea bags).

When the Amazon price went up, I found Frontier's Irish Breakfast Tea, which is Certified Organic, and Fair-Trade, to boot.

It's good tea. It's coarser than Twining's, which is uniform and, I guess, milled in some way. Frontier's has a rich flavor and color.

The item description, or at least the picture, doesn't emphasize the brand name, and when I bought it, I didn't know it was Frontier. I had tried Frontier in the past, when I had purchased loose tea at Whole Foods. It comes in a foil bag (or is it plastic that looks like foil?). You'll need a container in which to keep the loose tea, or a twist-tie, since the bag isn't resealable.

I drink this all the time so happy to find it in bulk here - however, I think it's gone up so may not buy here next time if that's the case.

My preferred teas are all English blends from the UK, like Yorkshire Gold, PG Tips, and Typhoo. I've recently run out of both Yorkshire Gold and Typhoo, and loose tea is very difficult to come by in the US, particularly British loose tea, despite the fact that UK brands, at least in bagged form, have in recent years become widely available here.

I purchased about an ounce of this tea along with a similar quantity of Frontier's English Breakfast Tea, as they were the only two blends described as "robust and full-bodied". The good news is, this "Irish Breakfast Tea", when allowed prolonged brewing time, is comparable is strength to the English brands I love, but as an "Irish Breakfast" tea is meant to be somewhat stronger than an "English Breakfast" tea (as an aside, these designations are of Usamerican origin, not British or Irish), I'm feeling rather disappointed by it.

As for the bad news, however, the disappointment I feel concerning the Irish Breakfast Tea pales in comparison to the utter disdain with which I regard Frontier's English Breakfast Tea. It's so insipid, I wondered if I were drinking tea, at all. It's comparable, I suppose, to Usamerican blends, and might make a pleasantly light iced tea come summertime, but English it is most decidedly not. It's not that it tastes bad, it's that it hardly tastes of anything at all.

At this price, (I paid $21 USD/lb at my local co-op) the Irish Breakfast is a reasonable substitute for an English blend, in the absence of the availability of something better, but I'd still prefer tea sourced from England or Ireland.
